A huge big welcome to our March Programme! Life has been a
whirlwind of films, live gigs and children’s parties since our launch
back in January...
We have an action packed month ahead. We’re chuffed to bits
to have clinched Best Exotic Marigold Hotel amongst many other
box office hits we’re bringing back ‘Warhorse’ and ‘The Artist’.
Juliet’s Chums Club has been a huge success; we can’t wait for
more fun and games in March. The Regal has been rocking at our
Sunday Sessions and Open Mic nights. Other screenings include
our BAFTA night on Thursday 29th with a London wining 2012
Short Film followed by a Q&A session with one of the filmmakers,
and of course we have our monthly themed dress up night which
this month will be ‘The Rocky Horror Picture Show’.
For those of you yet to visit, you need to come and see it, to
‘get it’. We are not a multiplex nor do we aspire to be. Some
call it an experience, others call it luxury, we just call it The Regal.
Whether you snuggle up on our love seats with a bottle of wine,
our plush seats in the circle with a beer or a candlelight table of
four downstairs with friends, we promise we will do our very best
to look after you from the moment you walk up the steps to our
beautiful Art Deco building until the moment you leave...
Finally, a thank you all for your support and patience as we find
our feet and try to become not just ‘a local cinema’, but one you
all feel a part of and immensely proud to have in the town...

Warhorse brings to life

a farm in Devon, and Albert
is devastated when Joey is
sold to the British cavalry and
shipped to the frontline in
France. With Europe gripped
by conflict and suffering both
Albert and Joey’s plights are
cast into a turbine that will test
every ounce of their strength

for our Dress up theme night.....
For decades now it has been a ritual for the
public to watch the film as one of the cast
and sing along to classics songs such as
Dammit Janet, The Time Warp and
Touch-A, Touch-A etc.
We are asking patrons this month to
be brave (in some cases we don’t need to
ask), and join in the fun and carry on this
silly but enjoyable tradition.

Following last year’s sell out gig in the Vale one of USA’s top
rock & blues bands -The Billy Walton Band - are again teaming
up with local legends The Badboys for what promises to be
another rocking good night. The Regal Cinema is proud to host
the evening in its amazing auditorium.
The Billy Walton Band - with links to such icons as Jimi Hendrix,
Bruce Springsteen, Bon Jovi, Southside Johnny and Gary US Bonds
- are not to be missed in one of their rare appearances on these
shores.
Teamed with the Badboys - including, on lead guitar the renowned
Steve Eagles (ex Photos and Bang Bang Machine), Roy Cresswell
on bass, Jason Brooks lead vocals and Dean Phillips on drums this
will be a night of sensational rock & roll.
With special guest appearances by other well known Evesham
artists including Lance (Rockit Fuel) Perkins ex- Wrathchild legend.

The SMRCC is the revival of the Regal's original Chums
Club. It is organised by Juliet Richmond and her friends and
offers simple, good old fashioned fun.
After the film, members of the Chums Club are invited to
play in the auditorium where there are retro toys, puzzles,
colouring, group games, a TWISTING COMPETITION and
occasionally, the odd snake and spider.... REAL ONES TOO!
At the end of EVERY Chums Club there will be a group
photo taken on the steps of the cinema and will be featured
in the Evesham Journal each week.
Free to join (just ask for a form at the box office), Chum's
Club members will get a certificate, a membership card and

“In the 1970’s and 80’s the already somewhat dilapidated Regal instilled
in me a love of film and Cinema. It was here that I fell in love with Tatum
O’Neil in International Velvet, watched ET once a week for six weeks and
left walking on and punching air after seeing Rocky. Like many people I
never expected to see it open again and never really allowed myself to
believe it would until the 21st January 2012.
While it was a huge treat to go with my wife and children to the opening
day Chum’s club and to attend the opening night celebrations, it wasn’t
until the Monday after opening that the Regal and I became properly
reacquainted. I went on my own to see “The Deep Blue Sea” and as
I sat in my huge and hugely comfortable seat with a cold beer in hand
watching a subtle, wonderfully acted film about 1950’s England on the
immense screen, the hairs back of my neck stood on end as the magic of
cinema hit me like never had in a soulless multiplex.
