Case Study 01 Eastside Inn, Bjorn Van Der Horst Colour: Fabricator: Designer: CaesarStone Mink 4350 Stewkley Stone Amalgam Head Chef, and owner, Bjorn Van Der Horst, commented: “My kitchen will be used heavily, so CaesarStone was the natural choice for my work surfaces because it is so strong, scratch and stain resistant. One of the major factors for me is that it’s non-porous – this is very important, as the surface will get such heavy use. When serving the public on a daily basis hygiene is always one of the main priorities to be taken into account, and I know this element is covered with CaesarStone.” “CaesarStone was the natural choice for my work surfaces because it is so strong, scratch and stain resistant” Case Study 02 Domestic Kitchen Colour: Fabricator: CaesarStone Oyster 4030 Granite House by Stonemasters, Lancashire Brian Johnstone of Stonemasters consulted with the client, Mrs Bordi, who was originally looking for polished concrete for her kitchen. After initial meetings it soon became clear that a manufactured stone would be more appropriate for Mrs Bordi, who stipulated a surface which was hardwearing and stain resistant. Granite House recommended CaesarStone as a product which matched these requirements, and the colour was something the client knew instantly was right for her, and something which couldn’t be matched by any other stone provider. “Its simply delightful” commented Mrs Bordi, “it really sets the scene in the kitchen.” “It’s simply delightful... it really sets the scene in the kitchen” Case Study 03 Domestic Kitchen Colour: Fabricator: Designer: CaesarStone Blizzard 2141 DOMOSTONE Scot Davis, Brandt Kitchens Our client required a sleek, modern and clean lined kitchen to create a clear contrast with the original beams and woodwork. We recommended CaesarStone Blizzard as a perfect stain free, clean, crisp and versatile material with which we could fabricate a large 100mm mitred edge to contrast with the handle-less units and appliances. Our client Lee Newton gave clear guidelines as to the look and style and was impressed with the design, qualities and finished project, commenting: “All my ideas and concepts have been designed, created, over achieved and installed by Domostone leaving us with a superb eye catching kitchen and a hassle free white quartz worktop, which we thought would not be possible.” “All my ideas and concepts have been designed, created and over achieved, leaving us with a superb eye catching kitchen” Case Study 04 Domestic Kitchen Colour: Fabricator: Designer: CaesarStone Latte 2350 Eaton Stonemasons Ltd, Dorset Bespoke Furniture Company Kitchen designer, Darren Jenner, believes CaesarStone offers a more contemporary and modern look and feel to a kitchen: “I think granite is more of an old fashioned and traditional material to use. With CaesarStone you get a modern appearance with a surface which is much more aesthetically pleasing. Caesarstone offers consistency of colour due to the fact that it is man-made, which makes matching joints far less problematic from a fabricators point of view, with a far better result for the client.” “CaesarStone offers consistency of colour due to the fact that it is man-made, giving a far better result for the client” “It is extremely rare to get any negative feedback with CaesarStone” Case Study 05 Reception Desk, Floor & Walls Colour: Fabricator: Designer: CaesarStone Blizzard 2141 London Marble Ltd, Catford Tate Hindle Luis Barbosa of London Marble Ltd explains: “Its an extremely workable and reliable surface. From a fabricators perspective it is a very economical and cost effective material to work with. This is due to the fact that the stone is man made and there is always complete colour consistency, ensuring far less waste, which is good for us and the environment. It is extremely rare to get any negative feedback with CaesarStone, which means we are constantly achieving client satisfaction, which means everything in this business.” Case Study 06 Twinings Tea Tasting Room Colour: Fabricator: Designer: CaesarStone Ivory 2220 Stoneworx Bespoke Furniture Company Paul Froud of Stoneworx met with Twinings to discuss their requirements, here it was discovered that among other factors to be considered, stain resistance was the highest priority. With this in mind Paul proposed CaesarStone on the strength of its stain resistance. Twinings commented: “The CaesarStone has been in the herbal tea tasting room now for almost 2 years and is still like new. The main concern for Twinings was staining of the surface, but Stoneworx assured us of its stain resistance and they were right. The tasting room is used daily and requires minimal effort for cleaning.” “The CaesarStone has been in the herbal tea tasting room now for almost 2 years and is still like new” Case Study 07 Domestic Kitchen Colour: Fabricator: Designer: CaesarStone Obsidian Black 6100 Cawdor Stone, Hertfordshire Silkwood Furniture, Hertfordshire Derek Neil of Silkwood Furniture considers the fact that the material is man-made a major advantage, due to this providing consistency in colour every time, plus, there are none of the flaws you would expect from natural stone. Derek commented: “CaesarStone makes my job easier as you know what is delivered to the client is the same as the sample they’ve seen and chosen. This isn’t always the case with natural stone. You’re always going to have those inconsistencies and flaws which make the surface that bit more difficult to match up.” “CaesarStone makes my job easier as you know what is delivered to the client is the same as the sample they’ve seen and chosen” Case Study 08 TV Chef’s Giancarlo Caldesi & Katie Caldesi Colour: Fabricator: Designer: CaesarStone Mink 4350 Butterfield Natural Stone Simon Bray Simon Bray former Kitchen Designer of the Year, commented: “From a design point of view, I like to work with CaesarStone, not only because of its immense practical qualities, but it’s great from a design perspective, and there’s a huge colour palette to choose from. I like to use CaesarStone when I require a less busy work surface, and CaesarStone is available in a wide range of ‘solid’ colours. I would never use a light coloured granite in a professional chef’s kitchen; the surface needs to take heavy pounding, and CaesarStone doesn’t stain like granite, or need to be sealed.” “I have been working in the kitchen for a year now, and there isn’t a mark on the CaesarStone... it’s brilliant” Case Study 09 Domestic Kitchen Colour: Fabricator: Designer: CaesarStone Blizzard 2141 Ebstone Kitchens Tiffany Harris Steve Dempsey of Ebstone Kitchens worked with the designer to try to achieve the clients wishes, to have a very clean modern appearance in the kitchen, something which tied in with the look and feel of the rest of the living area. CaesarStone was recommended to the client due to their brilliant white colour, Blizzard, which would be a perfect contrast to the black and white units and stainless steel appliances. Steve commented: “This was something the client was happy with on the initial plans, and even happier once the whole kitchen was installed. It gave a bright look and feel to the kitchen and an appearance of greater space.” “This was something the client was happy with on the initial plans, and even happier once the whole kitchen was installed. It gave a bright look and feel to the kitchen and an appearance of greater space” Case Study 10 Domestic Kitchen Colour: Fabricator: Designer: CaesarStone Blizzard 2141 Prima Granite and Marble Vivienne Warman of Kitchen Co-ordination This kitchen was on the front cover of Essential Kitchen, Bedroom & Bathroom. Vivienne Warman consulted with her client and one of the main criteria for the kitchen was that it was to have a strong main colour which dominated, but didn’t overpower the rest of the kitchen. Vivienne chose to go for CaesarStone Blizzard, a very strong white. Vivienne commented: “The client loved the Blizzard and agreed it was a perfect colour to complement and contrast the remainder of the kitchen, with a black glass back splash to add a touch of drama and definition, brilliant white walls for to keep the room bright and open, and the high gloss lacquer and walnut veneer cabinets to add a contemporary feel. Two surface depths were also used, 100mm build up on the kitchen units and 30mm on the island. I think the varying depths work extremely well together and add another dimension to the kitchen. My client was extremely pleased with the end result, as was I.” “The client loved the Blizzard and agreed it was a perfect colour to complement and contrast the remainder of the kitchen” Table inset and flooring finished in Quartz Reflections 7141 Case Study 11 Commercial Office Colour: Fabricator: CaesarStone Quartz Reflections 7141 (Floors & Table inset), Mosaici Carbone 7150 (Countertop) Marble Building Products Nick Bendell of Marble Building Products worked closely with the client on this project. “The client required flooring for the reception area and board room, and sought a surface that was both hard wearing, but also attractive looking. A surface was also required for the reception area. Plus in addition to this, a feature item was required for the board room. After carefully researching varying surfaces, our recommendations were to use CaesarStone for all areas, because of the product advantages of it being a man made stone surface, therefore offering complete continuity of colour consistency. Quartz Reflections was chosen for the flooring, firstly because of its extrememly hardwearing nature, and also the mirrored chip within the quartz injects life into what can often be a stale commercial environment. “The client was pleased with this as they do also pride themselves on their green credentials as a company” As a feature item we thought the board room table could also encompass the same material, as this is the main feature within the room, and it also ties the whole design together. This was built into a solid wooden frame with a glass surface on top. The reception area was only a small surface, and again, as something a little different we suggested Mosaici Carbone, part of CaesarStone’s re-cycled range. The client was pleased with this as they do also pride themselves on their green credentials as a company, and felt this was a very fitting material to have in the main customer meet and greet area. www.concetto.net The unique Concetto Collection is an exceptional assortment of inspiring surfaces that are hand-made from individually cut and bound semi-precious stones.
