About Bahrain Airport Company
Company Structure
1.
Bahrain Airport Company was established as a single person
company (S.P.C) wholly owned by Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding
Company (BMHC) and registered with the Ministry of Commerce
under CR. No. 67564 on 17 Jan 2008 with the business activity
of “aircraft handling services for airlines.”
2.
Ministerial Decree No. 1 dated 3 March 2009: BAC licensed by
Bahrain, CAA to manage, operate and develop the Airport. . BAC
started operation on March 2010.

This 100% ownership is now held by Gulf Air Holding B.S.C.C.
The change of ownership from BMHC to Gulf Air Holding
B.S.C.C. took place in 2014.

Bahrain Airport Company awarded the construction work to Arabtec in Feb, 2016 to build the new terminal with 14 million
passenger capacity. The work is expected to be completed by Q2 2019. The total investment cost is approximately
USD 1.1 billion.
