Go at your pace and enjoy the beauty of the Hanalei Valley. Kayaking Hanalei River is available year round. Kayaking Hanalei Bay is available during our summer season only. Hawaiian Sailing Canoe Adventure A UNIQUE way to experience the Hawaiian The Makai Golf Course Designed by golf course architect Robert Trent Jones, Jr. in 1971, the course completed a multi-million dollar renovation in 2010. The Makai Course winds its way around serene lakes, native woodlands and the spectacular coastline with views of Bali Hai and Hanalei Bay. Hours 7:00am-5:30pm culture found nowhere else on Kauai. The "Waapea" or sailing canoe brings us back to a time when the canoe ruled the sea. It was a major resource for the Hawaiians in providing them with a tool to catch fish and a way to travel interisland. Enjoy the makani (wind) while sailing across the majestic Hanalei Bay and then set sail for the deep blue ocean waters of the Pacific. Available during the Summer Season. Consult with the Concierge on days and times for tours. Zipline Tours Imagine yourself soaring like a bird over breathtaking valleys at Princeville Ranch.. The “Zip n’ Dip” expedition is an incredible adventure blending eight picturesque zip line crossings, a suspension bridge & after a short walk you will arrive at a idyllic hidden deep waterfall swimming pool. They provide all necessary equipment for safety. A backpack and delicious deli lunch is included. Consult with the Concierge on days and times for tours. Horseback Ride Tours Have an unforgettable horseback experience on a 2,500 acre working cattle ranch, one of Hawai’i’s oldest. Stand Up Paddle Board and Surf Lessons on Hanalei Bay Stand up paddle surfing (SUP), or Ho’e he’e nalu, is an emerging global sport with a Hawaiian heritage. Big wave surfer, Laird Hamilton, who resides in Hanalei and Hawaiian waterman, Dave Kalama re-introduced the ancient sport of paddle surfing to the modern water sports world. Surf Lessons Come and experience one of Hawaii’s oldest and traditional sports. You will learn how to read the waves, ocean safety, and most importantly how to stand on the surf board. Have fun and enjoy the ocean water of Hanalei Bay. Lessons are available year round. FAMILY & CULTURE Scuba Diving North Shore diving is available at Tunnels Beach during the Summer months; Boat & Shore dives are available throughout the year on the South Shore. Tunnels Reef is an excellent dive during the flat surf conditions of the summer months. Dives are done on both sides of a sand channel that cuts through the reef and reaches depths of 70 ft. The second dive visits some large caves & over hangings on the backside of the channel. Through out both dives, you will find large sea turtles, numerous varieties of beautiful reef fish, eels, and along with a few large spotted eagle rays, whose wingspan can reach up to 15 feet. This amazing dive is an unforgettable experience! Kayak, Zipline and Hike Tour Kayak through a serene rainforest valley, then have an option to ride two magnificent, 400+ foot zip lines and connecting bridge over a pristine twin waterfall and swimming hole. After zip lining, swim, jump or float on inner tubes and enjoy a delicious picnic. Boat Tours One of the best way to view the Napali Coast is by boat. View the wonders that make the Napali Coast a “must see” attraction. Discover jagged cliffs, waterfalls, and marine life. Snorkeling tours are available from the North Shore during our Summer Season only or year round from the West shore. Advance reservations recommend. Hanalei Pier A picturesque location on Hanalei Bay Directions: Located in Hanalei Town 5 miles from The St. Regis Princeville Resort. Take a right on HWY 56 and you will drive right into Hanalei Town. At Kalypso (Aku Road) take a right, then another right at Weke Road. Drive until the road ends. FAMILY & CULTURE Limahuli Gardens Sanctioned by the National Tropical Botanical Gardens, this is one of the best self guided tours that you can experience. The drive to Limahuli is beautiful and you will learn about Hawaiian History as well as the various kinds of rare and endangered Hawaiian plants. Directions: Take a right on HWY 56 and go past Hanalei Town about another 15 minutes. Na Aina Kai Gardens Na ‘Āina Kai, "Lands by the Sea" is ever-evolving and unique among the world's botanical gardens. Spanning 240 acres, Na ‘Āina Kai is a living mosaic of diverse gardens, a hardwood plantation, a moss- and fern-draped canyon. Located in the community of Kilauea iit is a 15 minute drive from the St. Regis Princeville Resiort. Dry and Wet Cave The Napali A dramatic 18-mile stretch of rugged coastline. Jurassic Park, King Kong and many Hollywood movies were filmed here. You can view the Napali Coast by boat, helicopter, kayak or hiking. Hanalei Taro Patch Overlook This overlook is one of the most photographed overlooks in Hawai’i. At one time these Taro Patches supported upwards of 10,000 Hawaiians. Take a Right on Highway 56 and you will see a turnout on the left side of the road. Perhaps the most visible and well-known cave on Kauai is the landmark Maniniholo Dry Cave at Ha'ena. The Maniniholo Cave is situated at the base of a vertical cliff mauka of Ha'ena State Park. If you enjoyed the Maniniholo Dry Cave, drive further along the coast and watch for Waikapalae Wet Cave and Waikanaloa Wet Cave near Ha'ena. The series of caves are about a 15-minute drive from Hanalei town and on the way to Ke'e Beach and the end of the road. Turn right on HWY 56 and right again at the Chevron Station. CJ’s is at the far right end of the Center. Hanalei Gourmet in Hanalei is a casual dining restaurant with a warm and friendly atmosphere, Directions: 5 miles from The St. Regis Princeville Resort. Take a right on HWY 56 and go over the one-lane bridge into Hanalei Town. Hanalei Gourmet is on the left side located at the Hanalei Center. Tahiti Nui in Hanalei Tahiti Nui has been open for at least 50 years welcoming Kauai visitors and residents. With their new family member Chef Mauro, he brings the Italian Cuisine with a twist of island flair. Directions: 10 miles from the St. Regis Princeville Resort. Take a right on HWY 56, go over the one-lane bridge, and continue passing through Hanalei Town. Continue driving Hideaways Proceed out the entry drive of the resort towards the gatehouse. Past the gatehouse, veer to the left towards the public parking area. A path on the left leads to Hideaway Beach. The trail is steep and unmaintained. Proceed with caution. Anini Beach BEACHES Take a left on HWY 56 and proceed past the Princeville Airport. After the airport take your second left and when the road splits take another left. You will see many secluded areas at Anini Beach along with some of the most beautiful houses in the world. Anini is recommended for snorkeling and swimming. Hanalei Bay Located in Hanalei Town 5 miles from The St. Regis Princeville Resort, take a right on HWY 56 and you will drive into Hanalei Town. Take a right at Kalypso (Aku Road), then another right at Weke Road. The entire sand-bottom bay is great for swimming and running. Tunnels Beach Take a right on HWY 56 and proceed past Hanalei Town. After about 5 miles you will come to an open area where there is parking, bathrooms and a food truck on your right. The dry cave will be on your left. Here you can park and walk east back towards Tunnels reef. Tunnels is great for snorkeling and relaxing. Be aware in the winter of big surf. Ke’e Beach Pu’u Poa Beach at The St. Regis Princeville Resort Offers exquisite scenic views of Hanalei Bay and Mt. Makana. The E Komo Mai desk offers towels, sunscreen and rental snorkel gear for a tour of Honoiki Reef, one of the largest fringing reefs in Hawaii. This is the name of our beach Take a right on HWY 56 and proceed past Hanalei Town and past Haena Beach Park. Ke’e Beach is located at the end of the road. Good for snorkeling and relaxing. Be aware of big winter surf and get there early for the best parking. Check with the Concierge on ocean conditions. We recommend beaches with lifeguards If you are swimming. Kauai’s oceans can be very dangerous. If in doubt, don’t go out. Hideaways can be very dangerous during high surf which includes Anini Beach during the winter months. Kīlauea Lighthouse This lighthouse has the strongest candle lens of any lighthouse in the world. Tours run daily and the views are some of the prettiest in all of Hawai’i. For any bird enthusiasts there is also a bird sanctuary at the lighthouse. 10 minutes away, the lighthouse is a perfect place to spend the morning. DISCOVERY Helicopter Tours Kaua’i is considered to be one of the best islands for a helicopter tour. You will be seeing the major highlights of the island, including waterfalls, the Waimea Canyon, the Napali coast and Mt. Waialeale, the wettest spot in the world. These flights can be booked with any of our Concierge. Okolehau Trail (Hanalei Overlook Hike) Take a right on HWY 56 and proceed to the first one lane bridge that goes over the Hanalei River. At the bridge you will drive left along the Hanalei River, not towards Hanalei Town. After about ¼ mile you will see a parking area on the left side of the road. Park here and on the opposite side of the road you will see a wooden bridge. Cross the bridge and the hike begins here. Waikoa Loop (5 mile loop) Take a left on HWY 56 and proceed for approximately 10 min. Turn right into the Kauai Mini Golf. Proceed to check-in at the Namahana Café within the mini golf facilities. You will need to sign a Liability Form as you will be entering private property. The loop is open Tuesday through Sunday at 11:00 am. Namahana Café hours are the same. If you are looking to start earlier, please sign the form the day prior. Bikes are available to rent within business hours only. Great for the family! Hanakapiai Hike at Ke’e Beach Take a right on HWY 56 and proceed past Hanalei Town and Haena Beach Park. Ke’e Beach is located at the end of the road. Once at Ke’e you will see a well marked sign on the left side of the parking lot. This trail will take you to Hanakapiai Beach. It is a challenging day hike, but the views are spectacular. Once at Hanakapiai Beach you can hike up the river to waterfalls or continue on the Kalalau Trail, which is extremely challenging. Plan on securing a camping permit for hikes to Kalalau. Princeville Loop (4 miles) RUN & WALK TRAILS Start: The St. Regis Princeville Resort Run starts at the run/bike path at The St. Regis Princeville Resort gate house. At the ½ mile mark, the run/bike path crosses over Ka Haku Road to the “mauka” (mountain) side of the road and continues along the golf course. Continue on run/bike path on the “mauka” side of Ka Haku Road. When the path forks, continue right through the tree tunnel and loop around the children’s playground OR Head straight towards the fountain and loop around the children’s playground. Head back to the resort on the run/bike path. Princeville Kayak and Hike Loop (6 miles) Start: The St. Regis Princeville Resort Run starts at the run/bike path at The St. Regis Princeville Resort gate house. At the ½ mile mark, the run/bike path crosses over Ka Haku Road to the “mauka” (mountain) side of the road and continues along the golf course. Continue on the running path (you will have to leave the trail in order to get to the main highway) all the way to the Kuhio Highway. Travel South (left off of Ka Haku Road/facing on-coming traffic) until you see the sign for Princeville Hike and Kayak. Turn left. Run until you see a small path through the white gates. This is the Mea Ho’onanea path. It will parallel the Prince Course Golf Cart path until you reach the fountain at the beginning of the Princeville community. Run back on to the run/bike path back towards the resort. 26 mile marker/Princeville Airport (8 miles) The Princeville Walk & Jog Path Pepelani Loop (3 miles) Start: The St. Regis Princeville Resort Run starts at the run/bike path at The St. Regis Princeville Resort gate house. At the ½ mile mark, the run/bike path crosses over Ka Haku Road to the “mauka” (mountain) side of the road and continues along the golf course. At the Pepelani Loop and Sandpiper Village intersection, cross again over Ka Haku Road and remain on the path until Pepelani Loop intersects again with Ka Haku Road. Head back to the resort on the run/bike path. Start: The St. Regis Princeville Resort Run starts at the run/bike path at The St. Regis Princeville Resort gate house. At the ½ mile mark, the run/bike path crosses over Ka Haku Road to the “mauka” (mountain) side of the road. Continue on the running path (you will have to leave the trail in order to get to the main highway) all the way to the Kuhio highway. Travel South (left off of Ka Haku Road/facing on-coming traffic) to the Princeville airport around the 26 mile marker and then back to the resort.
