ENGLISH Congratulations on your purchase of the Micralite Twofold - designed for safety, comfort and ease of use. We hope you and your children enjoy the freedom provided by the Twofold. If you have any questions or comments, we will be pleased to help: info@micralite.com The Twofold is suitable from birth with use of the Micralite Air-flo carrycot or the MaxiCosi Pebble or Cabriofix car seats* We recommend that the Twofold seat is used as soon as your child can sit up unassisted, usually around six months. Through a cleverly designed extendable wheelbase, the Twofold can accomodate a removable rear seat (sold as an accessory) to carry a second child, also an integral platform to carry a child standing. A 40L shopping bag can also be safely carried when the rear wheels are extended. General information IMPORTANT: Keep these instructions for future reference. Your child’s safety may be affected if you do not follow these instructions. WARNING: Never leave your child unattended Ensure that all the locking devices are engaged before use To avoid injury ensure your child is kept away when unfolding and folding this product. Do not let your child play with this product This seat unit is not suitable for children under 6 months Always use the restraint system Check that the pram body or seat unit or car seat attachment devices are correctly engaged before use. This product is not suitable for running or skating * Car seats used in conjunction with the Twofold chassis do not replace a cot or a bed. Should your child need to sleep, then it should be placed in a suitable pram body, cot or bed. General information IMPORTANT: Keep these instructions for future reference. Your child’s safety may be affected if you do not follow these instructions. Maximum weight in the Twofold stroller seat should not exceed 15kgs. Maximum weight in the Twofold removable rear seat should not exceed 15kgs Maximum wight in underseat net basket should not exceed 2kgs evenly distributed Maximum weight in Twofold shopping bag should not exceed 15kgs Maximum weight on the stand on platform should not exceed 20kgs Any load attached to the handlebars and/or the back of the backrest and/or on the sides of the vehicle will adversely affect the stability of the vehicle. Overloading, incorrect folding and the use of non-approved accessories may damage or break this vehicle. The Twofold is designed to carry two children - one seated, one standing. Two children can be carried seated using the removable rear seat. This must not be exceeded. General care and maintenance - regularly chech the vehicle to ensure everything functions properly. Tyre pressures - Keep tyres inflated to 1.5 bar (22 psi) using hand pump - adaptor in handle. Punctures can be repaired at a cycle shop. Always lift the front wheels over kerbs and step, as repeated impact may cause damage. Clean the frame with warm water, paying particular attention to washing away mud and or sand from sliding parts of the frame. Never use strong detergent or solvents. Always allow seat and raincover to dry before folding. Clean seats, hoods and raincover with a damp cloth. Do not use strong detergents or solvents. It is unsafe to use spare parts and accessories other than those supplied by Micralite (www.micralite.com) Manufacturered by Micralite Ltd TN3 9BD. This product is designed and manufacturered to comply with EN 1888: 2012. Micralite reserve the right to make changes to any of their products as part of continuing development and improvement. Fitting the mudguards - the Twofold is supplied with the mudguards not fitted. Once out of the box and the stroller removed from the polybag, ensure you identify the correct mudguard for each side. RIGHT to RIGHT, LEFT to LEFT. Follow the pictures showing the correct assembly proceedure, firstly locating Pin A into the slot, aligning the circular hole with the axle boss then snapping the mudguard in place. The rear wheels can then be assembled by pressing the red circular button in the centre of the wheel and sliding in the axle into hole B. To open the stroller - Lift lever (“Lift to Open”) to disengage from metal bar and push forward - the front wheels will begin to move out. Push down hard on the latch mechanism (labelled “PRESS”) until it fully latches onto the metal bar. Two “clicks” will be heard indicating full engagement.. The stroller is now ready for use. Adjusting the handlebars - The Twofold has a rotating handlebar also independently adjustable multi-position handles. To rotate the handlebar, lift the two quick release levers on the handlebar clamps, rotate to the desired position then squeeze the quick release levers until fully closed. To adjust the multi-position handles, slide back the black plastic collar (compressing the handlebar foam) - rotate the handle to the desired position then slide back the black plastic collar to lock in position. Seat recline, applying the brake (parking device) and front wheel swivel locks - The Twofold seat has two positions upright and lie-back. To recline the seat to the lie-back position, simply push down on the recline levers as shown until they come to a stop. Pull the levers up for the upright position. The Twofold has brake pedals on both the left and right. Either can be used to operate the brake. To apply the brake, push the lever downwards using your foot. NOTE. Rock the stroller back and forth to ensure the brake is fully engaged. To release the brake, lift the lever upwards using your foot. WARNING: the parking device must be engaged when placing and removing the children from the stroller. The swivelling front wheels can be locked by simply depressing the lock moulding as shown. Removing the hood - Unclip the mouldings from the tube as shown, then lift hood from the frame. Extending the rear wheels - If you want to use the rider platform, the shopping bag or attach the rear seat, you will need to extend the rear wheels to increase the stability of the Twofold. You may find it easier if you apply the brake first, then with your foot press and hold down pedal “C” then slightly lift the handlebars and push in a forward direction allowing the rear wheel assembly to swing out. The rider platform can now be rotated into place. NOTE: When using the rider platform, always keep hold of the handlebars to ensure the safety of your child. To attach the shopping bag - Release the buckle on the shoulder strap on the back of the bag, then loop the strap over the central section of the handlebars and pull through. The buckle can then be clipped back together once the shorter end of the shoulder strap has been passed under the foam covered bar as shown. Maximum load 15kgs - Do not overload! To fold the rear wheels - With your foot, kick the rider platform back to its stowed position, then with the toes, press down on the pimpled area of the rear platform - this action will move the rear wheel inwards. Keep pushing with the foot until the rear wheels are fully in and a “Click” is heard. To fold the stroller - simultaneously press silver button “Press and Lift” with the thumb while lifting latch directly below, pulling upwards until a stop is felt. Then while still pulling upwards on the latch, squeeze lever marked “Press” then continue pulling upwards in a swift action until the front legs have completely folded in and the fold latch has automatically engaged.If the fold latch does not fully engage, push in the front legs until a “Click” is heard. Using and adjusting the 5 point harness - To release the harness, depress the button in the middle of the buckle D. To fasten the harness, slide both fasteners E into the buckle until a click is heard. To adjust the length of the waist straps, press button F and slide adjuster G to the requried length. To adjust the length of the shoulder straps, slide adjuster H to the required length. The shoulder and waist straps should fit your child snugly. Additional harness fixing rings I are included to take a separate harness which must conform to BS6684 Fitting the raincover - the raincover is supplied in a convenient roll bag with elasticated straps that can be hung from the handlebars . Once out of the roll bag, the raincover should be flattened out as much as possible, then the two elasticated loops at the top are hooked over the handlebars. Pull the raincover down over the stroller and secure with Velcro straps. Removing the fabric seat - to fit the adaptors for the Air-flo carrycot and/or car seat, you will need to remove the fabric seat. Simply follow the pictures as shown. Fitting adaptors for car seats and Air-flo carrycot - These adaptors are sold as an accessory. Once the seat has been removed, standing at the handlebars, select the adaptor marked “L” for the left side and likewise with the right. Slide adaptor over the seat tube and push down until a “click” is heard. To remove adaptors, depress the red button, twist adaptor and pull off. Fitting the rear seat (sold as an accessory) - With the rear wheels extended, the rear seat simply slide down into place and automatically locks. Check the lock has fully engaged by pulling the seat upwards. To remove the seat, pull “D” ring on the back of the seat outwards and then lift seat clear of frame. Fitting the Mudguards A IG A ! Click HT RIGHT R A B 1. Before attempting to attach the mudguards, please ensure you have identified the correct mudguard for each side. RIGHT to RIGHT and LEFT to LEFT. 2. Position pin A into the enlarged hole on the slot on the mudguard. 3. With pin A correctly located, pull the mudguard down so pin A slides up the slot until the circular hole on the mudguard aligns with the circular wheel axle boss as shown 4. With your thumbs, press down on the mudguard until it positively snaps in place over the wheel axle boss. The mudguard is now fixed. Repeat this proceedure on the LEFT mudguard. 5. The back wheels can then be put on by simply pressing the circular red button in the centre of the wheel, then sliding the axle into the hole B. C Seat recline. brakes and wheel swivel lock Removing the hood Push down recline levers for lie back position. Pull recline levers up for upright position C Press brake lever (on either side) in a downward direction to engage the parking brake. ENSURE BRAKE LEVER IS FULLY DEPRESSED TO FULLY ENGAGE THE BRAKES. Lift the lever in an upward direction to disengage the brakes. NOTE: The parking device must be engaged when placing or removing children from the stroller. Release the buckle on the shoulder strap on the back of the bag, then loop the strap over the handlebars. The buckle is then clipped back together once it has passed under the foam covered crossbar as shown This lock should automatically engage when folded. If not push the front legs in until you hear the lock click in place Using and adjusting the 5 point harness Fitting the raincover (TPU) H 1 I ! Click 1. Hook the 2 elasticated loops over the handlebars. 2. Attach the 2 Velcro straps around the front leg as shown Press silver button, squeezing locks together as shown then pull up until a stop is felt. F G E E D Maintaining the squeeze on the latch, press the lever marked “Press” then pull all the way up until the front legs move all the way in between the rear wheels. 3 3. Attach the 2 Velcro straps around the front leg by the foot plate as shown To release the harness, depress the button in the middle of the buckle D. To fasten the harness, slide both fasteners E into the buckle until a click is heard. To adjust the length of the waist straps, press button F and slide adjuster G to the requried length. Additional harness fixing rings I are included to take a separate harness which must conform to BS6684 2 Removing the fabric seat Fitting adaptors for the car seat & Air-flo carrycot Fitting the rear seat & rear seat canopy 2 To remove the rear seat, pull the “D” ring positioned on the base of the seat at the back, then lift the seatunit off the chassis in an upward direction To remove adaptors, press red release button, rotate adaptor and slide off The adaptors are sold as an accessory 1 To use the rear seat canopy, unzip the bag on the back of the seat and lift out the canopy. Attach and fasten the webbing straps around the handlebars and secure the Velcro tabs to the side of the seat
