Animal encounter: involves the group getting to meet some animals such as snakes and lizards up close. The animal keeper will tell the group all about the animals. This type of tour is best for young groups and groups that are likely to become easily distracted. The animal encounter takes place inside the conservatory so weather would not affect it. 40 – 60 min. Feeding tour: involves the group getting to watch animals such as the coatis, meerkats, caracara, guinea pigs and rabbits being fed. The animal keeper feeding them will also tell the group all about the animals. The feeding tour takes place in the outside zoo area so groups should wear weather appropriate clothing. 30 – 40 min. Costs All talks and tours need to be booked in advance and have a one off payment which includes entry fees for all adults to the Conservatory and Zoo. Maximum group size for all talks and tours is 25, minimum group size is 10. Calderglen Conservatory Birthday Parties Talk and Tour At Calderglen Conservatory we offer a choice at the Glen d of horticultural talks and tours. The talks can involve a guided tour of the conservatory and gardens highlighting factual interest from our plant collection, economic importance of plants and general everyday use of plants. 30 min. Pre and primary school sessions can include a related themed craft workshop to complement the tour at an additional cost. Calderglen offers you a unique children’s birthday party. Exclusive use of the Courtyard Gallery, Calderglen party invitations plus free adult entry to the Conservatory for the party group. You will have the opportunity to feed the zoo animals including the owls, coatis and the meerkats. You will also get to provide food-toys for the animals. Handle a variety of animals including a snake and a lizard. You will have the opportunity to feed them and spend some quality time with them. Suitable for ages 7+ Wild Breakfast Wake the zoo animals with their favourite treats. Participants will get to feed the coatis, meerkats, kookaburras, owls, guinea pigs, rabbits and Scottish wildcats. Participants will also get to provide food enrichment for the caracara. Photographs from all age groups cover a wide range of categories all taken within South Lanarkshire. Arts in the Park C L f o S o r p l a t i ig Chatelherault Country Park Sunday 13 March 2016 11am – 4pm While the festival is aimed at the over 50s, Arts in the Park brings together all generations as they celebrate the arts and have a fun day out! There will be an arts and crafts fair, free music recital, and the chance to participate in arts and crafts workshops. The recital is free of charge but must be booked in advance.
