Bucharest 1959. Five high-ranking Jewish members of the Romanian
Communist party and heroes of the resistance plan and carry out a
spectacular bank robbery. They divert the attention of onlookers by
pretending to be shooting a movie. They are arrested, tried, convicted
and sentenced to death but not before being forced to reenact the
robbery in a fake propaganda film. An opportunity they immediately
seize to turn their absurd predicament into a comedy.
This is a true story.

WILD
CANARIES
by Lawrence Michael Levine
Cast: Sophia Takal, Lawrence Michael Levine, Alia Shawkat , Annie
Parisse, Jason Ritter, Kevin Corrigan
“Watching Takal, she’s got the sweetness of Audrey
Hepburn and ferocity of Katharine Hepburn, which
is perfect for a film that feels like a love letter to old
screwball comedies.”
Complex.com
“Wild Canaries transcends the cliches of New York
hipster comedies... [the film] exists somewhere on
the spectrum between Robert Altman’s “The Long
Goodbye” and Aaron Katz’s “Cold Weather.”
Barri and Noah, a newly engaged Brooklyn couple, are disheartened by
the death of their elderly neighbor, Sylvia. Though Noah sees nothing
unusual about the old woman’s death, Barri suspects foul play and
sets out to investigate, enlisting her roommate Jean to join her on a
reconnaissance mission to trail a possible suspect. Tensions mount,
however, when the investigation uncovers unsettling secrets throughout
the building including in their own apartment and suddenly everyone
seems like a reasonable suspect. A freshly comedic take on classic film
noir, WILD CANARIES brings a unique sensibility to a high-stakes murder
mystery.

A romantic comedy of errors that plays on the distorted views and
misperceptions men and women have of one another.
GERALD and MARTA, our mischievous, sharp-witted, mettlesome protagonists,
happen to be renting adjacent villas in a small hillside town in Tuscany.
Through a series of hilarious misunderstandings involving a motley cast
of criminals, rock stars, and film directors, he starts to think she’s a sexcrazed peasant woman from Eastern Europe, while she’s convinced he’s just
a pompous, nitwitted Englishman. But underneath their mutual insults and
condescending attitudes is a genuine attraction. They are, as it turns out, just
two shy hermits trying to flirt. And in a sweetly ironic twist, it is the same bitter
and foul-tasting liquor they both wickedly use to repel each other that winds
up bringing them together in the end.

TOOTIE
POST PRODUCTION
by Daniel Algrant
Cast: Christopher Walken, Lenny Kravitz
Renowned pianist “Sonny Israel” (Walken) is a troubled man trying to
deal with the recent loss of his wife, while pushing himself to compose
what may be his last masterpiece. He lives with his son “Gar” (Kravitz), a
brilliant musician in his own right and now playing alongside his dad as
they try and find common ground through music. Gar’s wife “CeeCee”
(presently being cast), is a sultry French singer and often the glue that
binds this trio. Sonny’s increasingly eccentric behavior provides for both
funny and poignant moments as tensions in their relationships reach a
stirring and impactful climax, whilst all happening amongst a backdrop
of wonderful music.
A script that allows Christopher Walken to showcase the full range of
his incredible acting skills. Little Rootie Tootie also features a marvelous
original film score from multiple Grammy Award winning recording
artists and composer, Terence Blanchard.
