2006 PRO FOOTBALL CAMP
2013 PARTNER Mission ENCOURAGE and INSPIRE youth to develop themselves into the very best athletes and people they can be. Objectives Give back to the community by putting on a youth football camp that features professional athletes and professional athlete trainers. Make this youth football camp available to all by providing scholarships to underprivileged kids. Teach football skills, athletic skills, and character skills that will help each camp participant to become the very best athlete and person they can be onand-off the field. Involve former and current NFL players. Run the camp and all related activities with Christian values and ethics. Community Service Giving back to the community through... Scholarships The creators of the Pro Football Camp strive to have a camp that is available to ALL kids, not just those who can afford it. In 2012, 105 scholarships were provided (35% of attendees). From 2006 – 2012, 614 scholarships were given. Generous donations were given by area businesses and individuals to provide scholarships. Proceeds from the charity golf tournament, featuring current and former NFL players, provide camp scholarships to underprivileged kids. Charity Event Despite having a charity itself, The Pro Football Camp has assisted other children’s charities and non-profits over the years. Praise with the Pros has been a great success in the past five years. The event features NFL athletes sharing their testimonies and worshipping with a local Christian band. This allows adults, kids and families to realize the importance of their faith in sports and in their daily lives. Let the Kids Play is an organization that allows families to donate new or gently used sports equipment to low-income and under privileged youth, so those children have the opportunity to play sports. The Pro Football Camp have been participants of this organization for two years. The annual Falcon Physical Therapy Charity Golf Tournament, held at Flying Horse Golf Course, helps raise money for scholarships for the Pro Football Camp. Every participant pays to be in the tournament, and the money raised goes towards families whose children want to participate in the camp. This allows less fortunate children to learn from the best and enjoy the game of football. The pros and staff go the extra mile with personal experience, related stories about the importance of school role models, positive attitude, hard work, team attitude, and individual responsibility.” Toby Lynn Bertch, parent: “Being a teacher myself, I found the greatest and most effective pro’s/coaches/trainer/helpers. They’re the ones who love and have passion for the game and the fundamentals. I appreciate truly the people who were here for the benefit and joy of the students.” Christa Wolfe, parent: ”In his own words, I have learned that being a part of a team means putting my teammates before myself and putting their safety before my own.” Joe LaRoss, parents: “A lot of fun, coaches are very energetic every days, very positive no matter the skill level. Everyday made to feel great.” Shale LePage, parent: “The pro’s are such motivation. The kids see people that were in the same position as they’re right now and gives the kids hope and motivates them to reach higher.” Contact Information Pro Football Camp 10159 Hillgrass Circle Colorado Springs, CO 80920 ph: 719.266.9308 fax: 719.266.9309 www.profootballcamp.com Sadie Martinez, Assistant Executive Director sadie@profootballcamp.com Teddi Domann, Pro Football Camp Board Chair teddi@profootballcamp.com Heidi Welge, Pro Football Camp & Scholarships Coordinator heidi@profootballcamp.com Jenny Lydiatt, Pro Football Camp & Golf Tournament Coordinator jenny@profootballcamp.com Facebook: www.facebook.com/profootballcamp Twitter: @ProFballCamp www.profootballcamp.com
