Plus, Aaron and Julie host “Backstage Pass: A New Season, A New Venue” at 7 p.m. to preview the entire season. SPONSORED Paris, 1900 $3,000 Friday, August 12 Spend an evening immersed in the glamorous and imaginative world of turn-of-the-century Paris. The Parker Quartet performs Ravel’s String Quartet; harpist Bridget Kibbey joins them for André Caplet’s entrancing Conte Fantastique, and the evening concludes with Ernest Chausson’s romantic Concerto for String Quartet, Violin, and Piano, featuring violinist Ian Swensen. Time for Three: Dance! $7,000 Saturday, August 27 Time for Three returns to Skaneateles for another exciting concert! This time, experience them like never before, on stage at the new amphitheater at Anyela’s Vineyards. It will be two time three when dancers from the trendsetting Company XIV join tf3. Sparks are sure to fly when these two charismatic trios join together for the first time. $3,500 Thursday, September 1 In a program perfectly suited to the church stage, we pair the music of J. S. Bach with modern master David Lang, a 2016 Academy Award nominee for best film score. The Knights chamber orchestra will join vocal ensemble Ekmeles for a program of Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No. 3, his Cantata, BWV 40 (with organ), and Lang’s Pulitzer Prize-winning Little Match Girl Passion, based on the tale by Hans Christian Andersen. $4,000 Friday, September 2 It takes two to tango, but imagine what nine can do, in a program that culminates with Argentine composer Osvaldo Golijov’s high octane nonet, Last Round. The Knights will lead us on a tango tour, which follows the world’s most romantic dance around the globe, as it inspires composers from Ravel to Stravinsky to the great tango nuevo master Astor Piazzolla. Season Finale: The Knights $6,000 Saturday, September 3 The season closes with an exciting evening of music featuring The Knights. Known for their hip and innovative programs, this Brooklyn-based chamber orchestra brings their passion to a wide range of music, from Vivaldi (Concerto for Two Cellos) and Mozart (Symphony No. 29) to Brazilian bossa nova legend Joao Gilberto and Brooklyn’s own singer-songwriter Sufjan Stevens.
