Oriental becomes
WORLD of FASHION
CROSSROADS OF AN ENCOUNTER · NINTH EDITION
Parade event for the promotion of dialogue between cultures, directed by Nino Graziano Luca and Habib Mestiri
CONCEPT
In a period in which part of the Arab world lives the tragedy of the wars for the conquest of
freedom from dictatorships, in the west, also due to the strong waves of migration, you must
reflect on how to integrate and live among people, starting by the awareness that it is necessary to
know one another to better interact. Deepening the culture of a population or a geographical area
is the first step to do. Only in this way, getting rid of superstructures or preconceived ideas, it will
be possible to converse and also hope to share choices.
These considerations on the necessity of dialogue between the cultures of Nino Graziano Luca and
Habib Mestiri, in which they began to do in the month of July 2008 by designing and nurturing
the Oriental, was an event born with the objective to meet the eastern world with the west through
the languages of fashion and the arts, studying the history and mutual traditions investigating the
secrets and mysteries of craft embodiments that express the "beautiful". From July 2012, in
occasion of the ninth edition, the dialogue between cultures expands, with the project WORLD of
FASHION.
