NIVERVILLE OLDE TYME COUNTRY FAIR
Message from the Mayor
Welcome Friends! On behalf of the citizens, staff and
council for the Town of Niverville, welcome to the
place ‘Where You Belong’. You may arrive as a first
time guest, an annual return visitor, a lifetime resident
or something in between. In Niverville, you’ll find a
sense of kinship that can only come from a community
that is open, diverse and welcoming. This spirit of
community, our best feature, is what drives all we
proudly have to offer. Our Town is home to a brand
new, state of the art Personal Care Home, a new
18-hole Golf Course, fantastic sports, fitness and rec.
programs, not to mention great restaurants, schools,
churches, clubs, playgrounds, and a thriving business
community. Regardless of your status, our wish is
that you will experience all that our community can
offer. The Niverville Olde Tyme Country Fair is a
true community affair as our citizens join together
to showcase a celebration of our heritage and ane
embracing of a promising future.
We are confident you will find what you are looking
for over the course of the weekend! From the thrill of
the midway, to the stage of local and international
talents, there is truly something for everyone. Start
at the Friday night street party and enjoy the food
sampling, fellowship and
a spectacular fireworks
show. Save some energy
for Saturday’s parade
and full day of first class
entertainment for the
whole family. The weekend keeps getting better
as it builds to the always
packed out Saturday
evening concert.
While you’re here, take a
walk off Main Street and meet the town and its people.
We hope you feel at home regardless of your mailing
address. Don’t hesitate to ask a volunteer or anyone
if you have a question. We are still a small town and
will take you from a stranger to a friend quickly. You
will discover the treasure that we have come to call
home.
Best wishes for an incredible and unforgettable weekend.
Greg Fehr – Mayor
Town of Niverville
Message from the Rec Director
Welcome to Niverville! Whether you are a first time
visitor or a long time resident; someone who only
comes out to visit once in a while, or someone who
has recently decided to make Niverville their home,
we are happy to have you as part of our community
during the Niverville Olde Tyme Country Fair.
The past year has been an exciting year for recreation
and community events in Niverville! In May of 2012,
the 1st annual Niverville Dog Adoption Fair was held
at the arena. This event saw more than 1,000 people
through the doors, and helped to promote and bring
awareness to many of the dog rescue shelters in our
province. In June 2012, the Bison Classic Motorcycle
Rally was held at the Niverville arena, along with a
show and shine in the credit union parking lot (2013
date is the July long weekend). In the Spring of 2012,
a new playground area was built at Hespeler park,
including a natural playground (with a little zipline for
kids!), an accessible playground structure, and more.
The 5th annual Imagine Run was held in September
2012, and the date for 2013 is already booked for
September 28th. In February 2013 we held a winter
fun day with lots of free activities, events and contests
that also coincided with the Actif Epica Winter bike

The Niverville Olde

an exciting event for
us and one that we look forward to all year, not just
for the couch potato race, but also for the many
other activities going on, the fireworks and the

Jerry is a Canadian Country Recording artist from
Dauphin MB, who has gained popularity performing
festivals across Canada, with acts such as Johnny
Reid, Shane Yellowbird, and Jason Blaine, and is
making his mark on the Canadian Country Music
scene. Having played venues ranging from acoustic
performances in small lounges, to larger settings such
as Dauphin Countryfest and We-fest; Jerry continues
to expand his fan base with his upbeat rhythms and
commanding stage presence.
Drawing inspiration from the classic country
troubadours like Hank Williams, and Johnny Cash to
the modern rockers such as Eric Church, and Luke Bryan, Jerry began writing songs in 2003 and has a style
of writing that combines the descriptive storytelling
of classic country with the upbeat rhythms of modern
country music. Jerry’s style of singing has been compared to the “styles of country rockers Garth Brooks
and Tim McGraw” (Grassroots News, June 26, 2007).
Through his music he has secured two National
# 1 hits with his debut album “Campground Cowboy” (nominated for “Best Country CD” at the 2010
APCMA’s), which displays a hint of the traditional
music the Winnipegger grew up with, balanced with
today’s contemporary country, all delivered with a
pleasing vocal exuding confidence. Jerry released his
second studio album featuring writers like Lee Brice,
Eric Church and many more in November of 2011, and
is now working on his third studio album.

No show is too small or too large
for the family fun entertainment
of Mr. Richards. Children and
adults love his unique sense of
humor and his cartoon style. Mr.
Richards is wonderful, eccentric
and extremely funny. Mr Richards
recently auditioned for Canada’s
Got Talent and was chosen out
of thousands and thousands of
performers to audition in front of
the celebrity judges on national
television. Out of thousands that
auditioned in Manitoba, there
were less than 60 that passed the
audition to appear and compete
on the show... and Mr. Richards
was one of them.

Trampoline Tricks
The trampoline is always fun and
has existed for many decades. But
to bounce trampoline while using a
wall is comparatively new and always
impressive. This system allows the
acrobat to carry out performances
where he may walk on a vertical wall,
enter by a window, land on the roof
and bounce back on the trampoline.
This is a completely unique concept
that creates a special magic for the
immense pleasure of the audience.

Winter Family Fun Day
Parks & Recreation
Niverville has experienced tremendous growth over
the past few years, and we have strived hard to retain
lots of green space and wonderful parks for the
community’s enjoyment. While Hespeler Park is the
largest park in our community we also have several
other parks nestled away. Edelweiss Park, located in
the centre of Edelweiss crescent, is a beautiful, large
open field perfect for pickup games of soccer, family
gatherings, etc. Opa’s park is located on the North end
of Roselawn Bay and can be accessed via a walkway
on the North West corner of Roselawn Bay. Opa’s park
offers playstructures, a swingset and a basketball court.
In addition to these three main parks, we have several
pocket parks throughout town and a tot park (located
on Third Street North and Fourth Avenue North)
Hespeler Park is a 80+ acre park located in the South
end of Niverville off Fifth Street South. Existing
facilities include a beach volleyball court, mini and full
sized soccer pitches, baseball diamonds, swing sets,
outdoor exercise equipment, a natural playground, an
accessible, inclusive playground, a picnic shelter and a
section of the Crow Wing Trail. Hespeler Park also features
asphalted walking paths that are great for cycling,
rollerblading or pushing wheelchairs and baby strollers.
NIVERVILLE OLDE TYME COUNTRY FAIR
An off-leash dog park is located in the old baseball
diamonds between the arena and the curling rink. Fully
enclosed and free to use, it’s the perfect place to take
your dog(s) for some extra exercise! Please obey rules
posted and clean up after your pet to ensure that this
remains a safe and enjoyable place for everyone to visit.
Garbage and recycling bins, a picnic table and benches
are also in the dog park.
The Niverville Centennial Arena, home of the Clippers,
has a hockey arena, large multipurpose room, upper
viewing room and canteen facilities. The curling club,
located next to the arena, has 3 sheets of natural ice,
and a meeting room downstairs. Niverville also has a
Skateboard park and drop in centre on the East side of
Town that is run by Youth for Christ.
John Henry’s meeting room and banquet hall, and the
Niverville Heritage Centre are two beautiful facilities
that are perfect for your meeting, conference, wedding,
and family gathering needs.
