P.M.I. is a non-profit 501(c) 3, community based, arts
& cultural organization located in Chicago, Illinois.
We organize festivals, publish books and periodicals,
make websites, manage art spaces, curate exhibitions, and promote all manner of artists both locally
and internationally. We are the people behind Version Festival, Select Media Festival, Lumpen Magazine,
Proximity Magazine, Pr Newsletter, Matériel Magazine,
(Con)Temporary Art Guide Chicago, Co-Prosperity
Sphere, Eastern Expansion Project Space, Northern
Exposure Project Space, Reuben Kincaid Artist Management, and many other local initiatives. We fund
most of our projects and activities through micro
donations at the events we host. This is supplemented
by a few generous patrons, small grants, advertising
in our publications, and subscription sales.
This booklet is a complete report of what P.M.I. has
achieved in the year of 2009. It is an attempt to
document what can happen when groups of artists,
allied organizations, and individuals like you, work
together to create a diverse cultural ecology for our
city and beyond. Thanks for helping us make all of
this possible!
