They were professional from the beginning and sold everyone on the idea of Lethbridge as a top notch host community then delivered in spades.” Tim Enger, Football Alberta “…they ensure the City of Lethbridge and other partners are on board with events. It was not hard to sell (our) event to Little League Canada with the community synergy that starts with the Sport Council.” Kevin Kvame, Little League Canada “The Lethbridge Sport Council team brought a high level of professionalism, hospitality and an amazing attention to detail to the successful 2015 Skate Canada International bid. Their community connections and relationships with the City of Lethbridge, their ability to marshal people and partners and their understanding of how sport events work and provide value to their community were among the key factors we appreciated as we awarded Lethbridge this prestigious international competition.” Donna Keough, Skate Canada Patinage Canada In LETHBRIDGE, your sport event becomes the highlight of the community. 34 2016 Southern Alberta Summer Games 2015 Alberta 55 Plus Winter Games 2012 Alberta Summer Games 2009 Alberta 55 Plus Alberta Winter Games 2006 Southern Alberta Summer Games 2005 Alberta Special Olympics Provincial Summer Games 2001 Alberta Seniors Summer Games 1996 Alberta Winter Games 1981 Alberta Summer Games 1975 Canada Winter Games 2012 National College Women’s Basketball Championship 2011 U16 National Club Soccer Nationals 2011 Football Canada Cup 2011 National College Basketball Championship 2010 Canadian 3D Archery Championships - Indoor 2008 CIS Women’s Rugby Championship 2008 International Practical Shooting Federation Nationals 2007 Scotties Tournament of Hearts - National 2007 Canadian 3D Archery Championships – Indoor 2006 CCAA Women’s Basketball Championship 2006 Canadian 3D Archery Championships - Outdoor International Regional 2016 Tour of Alberta 2015 Skate Canada International 2014 Tour of Alberta 2012 Ford World Women’s Curling Championship 2005 World Under 17 Hockey Challenge 2000 Prairie Baseball Academy and Millennium Series National 2015 National SloPitch Championships 2010-6 Canadian Junior Little League Championship 2013 U14 National Club Soccer Nationals 2012-3 National Female Hockey Challenge 2012 Women’s National Amateur Golf Championship Lethbridge Sport Council - A voice for sport Multi-sport Games 2014 Western Speed Skating National Championships 2014 Mountain Regional Synchronized Skating Championships 2013 Canada West Rugby Championships 2009 Canada West Swim Championships Special Events 2015 Rogers Hometown Hockey 2010 VANOC Olympic Torch Relay Festival – Lethbridge Annual/Bi-Annual Events Street Machine Weekend Lethbridge International Air Show Lethbridge Dragon Boat Festival 35 Visit us online: lethbridgesportcouncil.ca/sport-tourism VisitLethbridge.com info@lethbridgesportcouncil.ca Ph: 403-320-5412 36 ed@visitlethbridge.com Ph: 403-915-2869
