Way Of Life Boot Camp Monthly Goal Setting and Manifesting: FOCUS ! ”What you get by achieving your goals is not as important as what you become by achieving your goals.” -Henry David Thoreau ! ! FOCUS EXERCISE OF THE MONTH - INCANTATION: CONSCIOUS VS. SUBCONSCIOUS Here’s an incantation we’ve written for you for your health and fitness. Say this out loud every day, 2 or 3 times per day with emotional intensity, energy, and conviction. “I’m fully committed to exercising daily and eating right, because I know that when I do, I’m in full integrity with myself, I feel better, I have inexhaustible energy, and I set a great example for those around me whom I influence. I make a stand for great health, I commit to excellence with my body, mind, and spirit, and I strive for progress not perfection each and every day!” ! Goal setting and manifesting! When it comes to goal setting, we often think of New Years Resolutions and we aspire to create new goals that we want to achieve for the New Year. But despite our best intentions, most of our New Years goals are never fully realized. ! and behaviors that we have are NOT conscious endeavors. ! Of the 40% of Americans that say they create New Years resolutions, only 8% actually make those goals a reality, according to research by the University of Scranton. Why is that? ! ! ! ! What we do daily and how we operate from our brains 98% of the time comes from our subconscious faculties, and NOT our conscious mind! (according to the Mindset Performance Institute). What does this mean?! ! This means that the whole time we’ve been trying to set goals, using positive affirmations, and using will power we’ve been all wrong!! ! The reason why we set goals but don’t accomplish them has to do with a fundamental misunderstanding of how and why we’re able to set a goal, which is a thought in our mind, and execute the actions involved which turn that goal and manifest it, taking an image and turning it into a reality.! ! ! It’s no wonder so many of us get frustrated, give up, feel like we’re failing. We’re going about reaching our goals in a fundamentally incorrect way which is at odds with how we are hardwired as human beings!! ! The misunderstanding really has nothing to do with our ability to set the goal, nothing to do with our willpower, and nothing to do with positive affirmations.Maybe setting goals, willpower, and positive affirmations can have a profound effect when we’re not on auto-pilot, but the fact is, we’re almost always on auto-pilot! ! This isn’t to say goal-setting, positive affirmation, and will power can’t work entirely. This may come as a shock to you, but did you know that 90% of what we now know about the human brain has only been discovered in the last 5 years!? The daily habits, actions, thoughts into the subconscious mind where it can go to ! They have their place. But they have their place in terms of setting direction…not in terms of long-term actions and patterns of behavior that get us to our actual goal, UNLESS the goals, affirmations, and willpower is brought work for us.! ! ! [1] SUBCONSCIOUS CONTROLS 98% OF YOUR BEHAVIOR To really break thru the glass ceiling and get to your goals, you must learn to use the subconscious mind which control up to 98% of your behavior! Look at the subconscious and conscious mind using the analogy of a ship! ! The conscious mind is the ships captain. The captains job is to set the destination of the voyage (a goal). But once that course is set, he then must leave it up to the computerized controls and the engine room (the subconscious mind) to take him there! ! ! It would be foolish of the captain to think it was he who actually got the ship to the destination. It is likewise foolish for us to think that our conscious mind is what gets us to our goals!! ! It is our subconscious mind, our drivers of habit, action, and patterned behaviors that will get us to our final destination and allow us to realize our goals and the great news is that once we start to understand this fully we can utilize this knowledge to our advantage to manifest any goal we desire in any realm of our lives - our fitness, our finances, our personal relationships, our education, our career, and social lives, and even our spiritual lives.! ! Let’s get a better understanding of the power of our subconscious mind as it compares to the conscious mind.! ! ! (REFER TO THE TABLE ON PAGE 1)! Question: Why don’t we ever reach our New Years Resolutions?!! ! Answer: We think about and set goals with our conscious mind, but we don’t give our subconscious mind the “guidance coordinates”! The mind doesn’t know how to get there, and it’s the subconscious mind, NOT the conscious mind, that controls 98% of all our behaviors, patterns and habits!!!! ! The subconscious mind is so powerful that it is working every moment, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week! But then this begs the question, if our subconscious mind is this powerful, then why haven’t I reached my goals yet?!! ! The problem is, that we’ve given our subconscious mind unclear directions! In many cases we’ve punched in multiple coordinates into the subconscious super-computer and we’ve confused the system! ! ! Based on our past conditioning, can you see how many different instructions your subconscious mind has possibly been receiving? It’s no wonder you’re not getting what you want in life! You’ve programmed into your subconscious multiple messages that are in ! conflict with each other! enter it into our minds in a way that can be received and used by the subconscious mind.! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
