Bow Adjustments
DRAW WEIGHT
All Parker Bows are set on peak weight at the
factory. Draw weight can be adjusted downward a
maximum of 10 lbs. below peak weight. Using a 3/16”
Allen wrench, turn each limb bolt clockwise to increase
the weight and counterclockwise to decrease the bow
weight. Each full turn is equal to 2-3 pounds of bow
weight. It is very important to adjust limb bolts on both
limbs equally.
NOTE: Some older models had set screws in tapped
holes to secure limb bolts. Do not turn limb bolts with set
screws. Remove set screws and discard, they are not
needed.
DRAW LENGTH ADJUSTMENT
Draw lengths on most Parker Bows are changed with a
draw module easily removed from the bow in a press to
allow access to the set screws. On single cam bows, the
module is located on the lower cam. (See module charts
on next pages.) First remove the two screws that hold
the module. Remove the original module and install the
new module in its place. It is important to make
sure module screws are tight. Warranty
DOES NOT cover module screws that loosen
and cause limb damage. Once you are sure of
the draw length, non-permanent thread locking liquid may be used on the module screws.

Bow Set-Up
INSTALLING A NOCKING POINT
A brass nocking point or string loop can generally be
installed anywhere from 3/16” to 1/2” above the 90
degree point. This adjustment eliminates “porpoising”,
which is an up and down motion of the arrow.
Experiment with your nocking point location until good
arrow flight is achieved. We recommend a string loop be
used.
SETTING CENTER SHOT
Make your center shot adjustment with the same size
arrow that you will be shooting. Put the arrow on the
string at the nock point and visually align the string with
the grip center and center of the top limb and adjust the
center of the arrow rest to meet this alignment. With
proper arrow selection, this method will work virtually
every time with no need for other tools.
TILLER SETTING
Tiller is the difference in distance between the top limb
and string and the bottom limb and string generally
measured at the end of the riser. A bow usually shoots
best when tiller is even. If there is a question regarding
tiller, tighten both limbs and back them off an equal
number of turns, to the bow poundage desired.

Bow Maintenance
Periodic inspection of your compound bow is highly
recommended. Like all equipment, it is subject to wear
and should be reviewed prior to use for adjustments and
general service. Be sure to pay special attention to the
cams, strings, cables and all bolts or screws that may
loosen with shooting, especially cam module screws.
STRINGS
Only Parker strings should be used. It is
important for string length, end servings, etc.
to be to factory specifications.
Other brand string replacement may result in a loss or
gain of bow weight, improper cam rotation resulting in
lost efficiency, or over-size end servings could result in
strings slipping out of cam grooves. Always inspect your
bow for frayed or worn strings and cables. Replace
strings or cables that are damaged as soon as possible.
Parker recommends the use of silicone based wax such
as ML-6 to increase string life. With moderate to heavy
use, replacing string and cables would be recommended
annually. The correct string and buss cable lengths
insure the proper “rotation” of the cam to maximize bow
performance.

Bow Maintenance
LUBRICATION
Parker Bows have self-lubricating bushings and polished
axles requiring no lubrication or maintenance. Do not
spray WD-40 or other lubes on the wheels, axles or other
parts as dirt or grit will collect.
DRY-FIRE
Never shoot your bow without an arrow on the string.
Without the arrow to absorb the energy, “Dry-Firing” can
damage your bow and could cause personal injury. If
“Dry-Firing” occurs, check carefully for damage on all
visible parts. Especially make sure strings are in
grooves and pulleys. In most cases, a “Dry-Fire” does
not damage the bow. Only a small percentage of bows
require repair, usually a string or cable slide
replacement.
However, damage to your bow due to
“Dry-Firing” will not be covered under the
warranty. Parker will replace any damaged part at
factory cost, as a courtesy.

Shooting Your Bow
If you follow the preceding set-up and maintenance
guidelines, your Parker Bow is ready to shoot.
Arrow size selection is the next important step towards a
proper performing bow. Parker recommends referring to
the arrow manufacturers selection charts available at
archery dealers. On the chart, One-Cams, ARC-Cams
and 2-Plus Cams are considered Hard-Cams.
Keep in mind bow weight, arrow length, release or
fingers, type of cam and point weight all play a role in
shaft selection.
The majority of problems experienced by archers can be
attributed to improper arrow selection. After choosing a
new bow, selecting the proper “spined” arrow is most
important. When borderline, we recommend the next
size heavier (or “stiffer”) spined arrow.
NOTE: If the above procedures are followed, your bow
will “shoot arrows in good groups.” But normal archers
make minor mistakes in form, grip, release, etc. resulting
in not so perfect shots. Don’t be too quick to blame the
equipment, just keep shooting and improving your form.

Trouble Shooting
Frequently check all bolts and screws to ensure they are
snug, especially the small screws in the draw
modules. This is normal maintenance that would not
be covered under warranty should the screws work loose
while shooting the bow.
If you notice excessive bow noise while shooting, one or
more of the following will most likely be the cause:
Loose draw module screws.
Loose sights, rests, quivers or stabilizers. Suggest
shooting the bow without the accessories to pinpoint noise
problem.
Arrows too light resulting in arrow striking the rest or bow
window. See Arrow Selection charts at your local dealer.
Archer using improper form resulting in the string
“slapping” your arm. An arm guard is always a good idea,
especially while hunting.
Bow set at the bottom or below recommended weight
range can create string and cable slap. Example: 50-60#
bow set on 40#.
Sims Limb Savers and Sims String Leeches will reduce
bow noise.
