Table 1 shows the working loads for a range of effective strut lengths
when the shore is subjected to axial compression. The working loads
are established on the following basis:
Horizontal:
• Shore pinned at each end.
• Deflection of the strut due to its own weight.
• Eccentricity due to shore misalignment by L 200.
/
Inclined:
• Shore pinned at each end.
• Deflection of the strut due to its own weight.
• Eccentricity due to shore misalignment by L 200.
2
/
Vertical:
2/ • Shore with Tilt Head at one end and pinned at
the other end.
• Eccentricity due to shore being set 1:200 out of plumb.
• Tilt Head loaded a maximum of 20mm eccentric
with eccentricity positioned around weakest axis (Iyy).
Other Capacities
6-Way Connector:
Max capacity in compression
100 kN
Max Bending Moment (10mm plates)
12.7 kNm
Hinge Assembly:
Max capacity in tension or compression
at any angle
1/ • Shore pinned at each end.
• Eccentricity due to shore being set 1:200 out of plumb.
• Eccentricity positioned around weakest axis (Iyy).
These capacities have been established by theoretical analysis for the
main body of the shore and by testing of the various connections.
76 kN
Bartie Connector:
Max capacity in tension only (restricted
by flared hole in Super Slim Soldier)
Allowable Tension Loads
66 kN
Table 2 shows the maximum working loads for shores with pinned
ends only used in tension. These capacities are established with the
shore pinned into either a Strut Adaptor or a Universal Tilt Base.
Careful selection of the Universal Tilt Base anchors is required to safely
withstand the combined loads created.
