Several of us thought it would be nice to reinstate the Riverside Equestrian Newsletter to share the latest news and happen ings at the barn. Each month we’ll include a “Things to Do” section, timely information about shows, clinics, lessons, vet and farrier visi ts, and new horses and people at the barn. We want to build our community at Riversi de and make it a fun, informative experience for everyone! With chilly weather ahead (not that we really ever got summer weather), please make sure that your horse has a clean, winter blanket and sheet hanging on their blanket rack before you request them to be body clipped. Head Trainer, Marian Nelson It has been an eventful year at Sonoma Horse Park! Riverside equestrians have made much progress this year and have achieved great success at the shows, including earning many championships and top ribbons. Strides & Tides and the HMI August Classic, both ‘A’ rated, were the last two shows of the season at SHP. More than 400 riders competed. Riverside riders brought home many awards including Dana Schmidt who won the CWD Amateur Jumper Challenge and a new CWD saddle. Congratulations to all! Riverside riders will participate in several Fall shows that feature medal class finals, including Norcal and Horse & Hound. Consider taking part in these shows as they offer classes for all levels of riding. The more the merrier!
