FAQS
FAQS
Where can I buy a lift ticket?
Ticket windows are located on the south side of the Bridger Center 20 and
on the east side of the Tram Building 12 . Additionally, tickets are sold at
Jackson Hole Sports, the Cody House and at Teton Village Sports.
Where should I take the kids for mountain sports
school and day care?
To the Cody House which is located just above the Bridger
Gondola. When entering the Village area, turn left and
follow the signs to the Kids Ranch, 307.739.2788.
Here, you can also find a list of baby sitters.
What is an inversion?
An inversion occurs when the temperatures in the valley are much colder than the
temperatures on the mountain. Inversion days will often result in warmer temperatures on the mountain. If you hear the word inversion there is only one place to be
and that is up on the mountain.
First time here? Where do I begin?
If you have never skied Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, we highly recommend you
take a complimentary tour. It is a perfect way to get acquainted with the mountain
and become familiar with conditions. Host tours meet daily at 9:30 am in front of
Walk Festival Hall. Ambassador tours meet weekdays at 1:15 pm at the private lesson
meeting area. For more information, visit the Guest Service Center 12 .
Can I get to the town of Jackson if I don't have a car?
START Bus runs continual service from Teton Village to Jackson daily. The bus
stop is located in front of the Clock Tower Building. For a schedule call
307.733.4521, visit www.startbus.com or pick up a bus schedule at the bus stop
or at your concierge desk.
Where do I find information on conditions and events?
Internet: jacksonhole.com & tetonvillagewy.org
TV: channel 13. Radio: KJHR 100.1 FM. Mountain Round Up. This Week In Teton
Village. Local Snowphone 307.733.2291. Information screens located at Café
6311, Ticket Services, Guest Service Center, JH Sports and Nick Wilson’s Café
will inform you on temperatures, on-mountain cams, events and grooming.
Do you need a special ticket to go out-of-bounds?
No. Jackson Hole Mountain Resort neither encourages nor discourages guests
from enjoying terrain in the backcountry. Please know backcountry safety before
you go and have the necessary equipment with you such as an avalanche beacon,
probe and shovel. Review and understand the daily backcountry report provided
by Bridger-Teton Avalanche Center and posted at all backcountry gates. Or, hire a
guide for the day and receive firsthand knowledge. Guide Service 307.739.2663.
– What's New In Teton Village –
Teton Village Association New Projects
Teton Village Association enhances the guest experience to make Teton Village
the #1 destination resort, and we are continually improving Teton Village in pursuit
of that goal. We recently upgraded the pop jet fountains and added a new play set in the
Village Commons for hours of family fun in the summer. This winter, we invite you to warm
up beside the new fire pit in the Village Commons. And we hope you notice the works of art
wrapping six utility boxes around the Village, depicting scenes of Teton Village. We thank our
newly formed Teton Village Public Art committee, the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort and
Jackson Hole Public Art for partnering to infuse art into utility in Teton Village.
50th Anniversary Winter 2015-2016
JHMR was kick-started in the early 1960’s by the passionate dream of its founders, Paul McCollister
and Alex Morley. From humble and rugged beginnings, this dream was fully realized decades later
with the ingenuity of a family with historic ties to the Cowboy State. In their tenure of ownership
since 1992, the Kemmerer family has invested greatly in the prosperity of Jackson Hole and the
state of Wyoming. With vast improvements to operations, lifts and infrastructure, they have
ushered JHMR into its present-day luster and world-wide iconic status as “The Big One.” This
winter, JHMR is celebrating all season long with events, a video web series produced by TGR and
the opening of the brand new Teton Lift. This new high-speed quad lift will carry skiers and
riders 1,600 vertical feet to an area that has previously only been accessible via hiking.
