Add big jump rings to each of the ends of the two chains. Do not close the jump rings just yet. Attach the lobster claw to one of the jump rings on the first chain and close. Step 2 — Adding the Horse Bit Pendant Attach the other end of the first chain to one end of the horse bit pendant loop using the jump ring and close the jump ring. Attach the end of the second chain to the horse bit pendant using the jump ring and close the jump ring. You have now created your horse bit pendant. © 2014 guides.mjprojectdiy.com Page 2 of 5 Equestrian Charm Necklace Step 3 — Crimp the Leather Charm Take the 2 inch leather strip and place it into the crimp end, lining it up evenly. Use your pliers to clamp down both sides of the metal around the leather. Squeeze with a moderate amount of pressure for a secure hold. Tip: Add glue under the crimp for extra hold. Step 4 — Cutting the Leather Cut the ends of the leather into a fun fringe or shape. We recommend making 3 vertical cuts and 2 angled cuts at the end to create a point. Customization tip: Try fraying the sides or making multiple little cuts all around for a vintage look. © 2014 guides.mjprojectdiy.com Page 3 of 5 Equestrian Charm Necklace Step 5 — Attaching Charms Loop one small jump ring to the center of the horse bit and add another small jump ring to that ring and close both jump rings. Step 6 Attach small jump rings to the crimp on your leather charm, the coin and bead pendant.
