Day 2
Salvador - City Tour
Today we start to explore this country of contrasts. We will spend soem time wlaking thorugh the old city center. We will start with the lower part of the city or the `Cidade Baixa` with its
popular market (Mercado Modelo) and its colorfull shops and noisy owners and visitors. The place is always crowded and its a pleasure to just stroll around and observe the locals.
We taek the Elevador Lacerdo to reach the upper part of the city or `Cidade Alta` and head for the famous Pelourinho which marks the center of Salvador`s old part.There is music
everywhere and street vednors and Capeoira dancers dispute the attention of the visitors.

Day 5
Salvador -> Porto Seguro – Bahia
Our guide will call for you at the hotel
for your 30 minute flight to Porto
Seguro, which litteraly means ‘safe
haven’. Porto Seguro is still in the state
of Bahia, around 800 km down south on
the ‘Costa do Descobrimento’ or
discovery coast. It is said that the
portuguese made their landfall here
1500, but in fact its some 60 km further
to the south; in Cumuruxatiba, on the
beach of Barra do Cai, that they set foot
ashore.
Today it doesn't really matter, since this
region is one of the most spectacular of
the Brazilian coast. Porto Seguro used
to be a quiet little village, but little of
this is noticable today. Its a favorite
holiday spot for the Brazilians and its
youth invade the place by the thousands
during the Brazilian holidays.
Upon your arrival, our private bus will
take for the 15 minute ride to the Monte
Pascoal hotel, right in front of the
beach. So, have a quick shower, put on
your bathing trunks and enjoy.

Day 8
Porto Seguro –> Rio de Janeiro
A visit to Brasil is not complete until you have visited visit Rio
de Janeiro: the ‘Cidade Maravilhosa’ as the Cariocas tenderly
call their city.
Here it`s all about
body culture, thumbs up and the
marvellous landscapes. Rio is a megapole of approximatively
11 millions inhabitants. It’s a city of contrast and either you
fall in love with it at first sight or hate it, but in there are no
in-betweens.
Your humble correspondent lost his heart here 10 years ago
and the love story is still burning.
Upon your arrival from Porto
Seguro we will once again be

Day 9
Rio de Janeiro – Corcovado
After breakfast we leave for one of the
NEW seven wonders of the world: the
Corcovado hill and the Christ Redeemer
statue, which peaks at 700 meters.
We board the electric train during the
climb you can enjoy one of the most
beautiful views in the world: the
Guanabara bay.
The portuguese arrived here on the 1st of
january 1502 and named the place São
Sebastiao do Rio de Janeiro.
After the descent we will make a
panoramic tour of the financial heart of
Rio and a stop by the famous
Sambodromo, where each year thousands
of Cariocas assist the Carnaval parades.

Rio de Janeiro -> Foz do Iguaçu
You are heading south to Foz do
Iguaçu, on the border with Argentina
and Paraguay for your next visit of the
impressive waterfalls.

Day 12
Foz do Iguaçu – Brasilan side
Iguaçu in “Tupi-Guarani” means : big water. The river Iguaçu, up to one kilometer large upstream, is then pressed into a 65 meters
channel resulting in the spectacular falls.
There are up to 300 little waterfalls widespread over the two side depending on the water debit. 19 big waterfalls on the Argentinian
side and 3 on the Brasilian side. Today we visit those three with our guide.

Foz do Iguaçu – Argentinian side
On this side the visit lasts a bit longer because there is actually 16 waterfalls to visit spread over three different levels to end with the
mighty ‘Garganta do Diablo’. Here you can see the huge waterfall, 80 meters high, top down.
