FLIGHTS
All Qantas services to Fiji are codeshare flights
operated by Air Pacific which currently operates 21
direct services per week between Australia and Fiji.
Daily services depart from Sydney and Brisbane, and
five from Melbourne to Nadi. In addition, there are
two direct services per week between Sydney and
Suva.

CLIMATE
Fiji enjoys a tropical maritime climate with no real
winter. Along the coast, May to October generally
experiences warm sunny days with little humidity,
whilst November to April experiences higher
temperatures and some tropical rain.

ROOM TYPES: Most hotels offer rooms with two beds
(twin) or one double/queen sized bed for use by one
or two persons. For triple share a third bed (rollaway)
is added, except when the room contains two
double beds. Some hotels also offer family rooms
(two adults/two children) comprising two double
beds. Please note, however, that they are normalsized rooms and may therefore be quite crowded.
If an extra rollaway bed or a baby cot is required, the
charge must be paid directly to the hotel.
ROOM DEPOSIT: On check-in, guests will be
required to establish credit for incidental charges.
A refundable deposit or a major credit card imprint

The Fijian Dollar is the basic unit of currency. Bank
notes are issued in denominations of 2, 5, 10, 20

DEPARTURE TAXES
Associated charges and taxes for departures from
Australia are prepaid prior to your departure from
Australia and shown on your airline ticket.
All visitors to Fiji must have a valid passport with at
least three month’s validity beyond the date of
departure and a ticket for onward travel. Tourist
visas are granted on arrival, free of charge, for a
stay of up to four months for Australian passport
holders.

As at 19 December 2005, the Fiji Government
is considering imposing a Hotel Turnover Tax
for travel from 1 June 2006. Prices in this
brochure will increase if the Hotel Turnover Tax
is introduced.

Denarau Island
Located just twenty minutes south of
Nadi’s international airport, Denarau
Island is home to the three luxurious
Starwood resorts and the newly opened
Sofitel Fiji Resort & Spa as well as the
Denarau Golf and Racquet Club which is
within easy walking distance of the
resorts. The Club is perfect for a round
of golf or a friendly tennis match.
Denarau Marina is one of Fiji’s main
departure points for air and sea transfers
to the Mamanuca or Yasawa Islands and
also for Captain Cook Cruises.
The Coral Coast
The Coral Coast is Fiji’s premier resort
area and stretches along the southern
coast of mainland Viti Levu. The area is

Cruising and Sailing
Cruising around Fiji is a fantastic way to
experience more than one destination.

ship cruise companies in Fiji, Captain
Cook or Blue Lagoon Cruises. Choose

an air-conditioned lounge with bar. The Drodrolagi

Malolo Cat I is a 16-metre catamaran designed for
60 passengers and Malolo Cat II is an 18-metre

resorts of Musket Cove and Plantation Island only.

Yasawa Flyer is a 25-metre comfortable, fast

Drawaqa Barefoot Lodge
Drawaqa is a palm-fringed atoll nestled at the
southern end of the Yasawa Islands. The resort
offers stunning coral gardens right off the beach,
where you can snorkel, kayak and swim with
graceful manta rays.
There are just twenty bures, accommodating a
maximum of forty guests. Built and thatched in
traditional style by local villagers, the
accommodation is traditional, rustic and absolute
waterfront with communal showers and toilets,
and no electricity in bures.

Days 4-7: Viti Levu Bay
Start your kayaking adventure, heading into Fiji’s
largest bay. Paddle along the coast, enjoy some
snorkelling, rest in the shade of a coconut palm.
Days begin with roosters crowing and children
playing, and end with singing and dancing. Enjoy
welcomes and kava with the village elders. Swim or
snorkel, look out for bird and marine life, especially
near the mangroves. Meet the villagers, perhaps
join them in a game of volleyball or touch rugby.

After a delightful journey, it’s time to paddle (or be

Day 2: Nadi - Coral Coast
Start with a visit to Nadi market, a good chance
to buy kava to present to village elders later in the
tour. Continue on to one of Fiji’s best beaches,
Natadola, for a game of volleyball or just enjoy
the sunshine. Next stop is the sand dunes near
Sigatoka, the place for sandboarding. Continue
on to your stopover for the night.

Day 3: Coral Coast - Suva
If you are feeling fit, today’s feature is a three-hour
hike into the highlands, along jungle paths and
crossing streams. Then river-tube down the Navua
River, followed by a longboat canoe ride (if you
prefer, choose the less energetic option and
longboat up the river to meet the hikers at the end
of the track). Continue to Suva and experience the
local nightlife.
Overnight: Colonial Lodge, Raintree Lodge or Turner
House
Day 4: Suva - Volivoli Beach - Raki Raki
Today continue on unsealed back roads, passing
through villages and meeting the locals. At the
Wainabuka River, try bilibili rafting (made of
bamboo poles). You’ve now reached the top of the
island. Longboat or kayak over to Nananu-i-ra
Island (transport at additional cost). On the island
you’ll find secluded white sand beaches and reefs
for snorkelling.

This tour is an extension of the 5 Day Hula
Loop tour. It allows more time on fantastic
Volivoli Beach-Raki Raki, giving you a break
from touring and a chance to get into island

BOOKING CONDITIONS
Cancellations: If you cancel or
terminate your holiday there will be
no refund of your deposit, and
• Prior to final payment: There will
be no refund of any additional
supplier deposit paid.
• After final payment: There may
be cancellation fees charged by
airlines, hotels and ground/cruise
operators amounting to all or part
of the cost paid.
Alterations: Alterations to your
package which require reissue of
documents - a fee of $25 per booking
will be charged by Qantas Holidays in
addition to any charges levied by
hotels, ground/cruise operators or
airlines. A document reissue means an
alteration to an existing booking and
not a transfer to another package,
when cancellation fees may apply.
Refunds: To the extent permitted by
law, no refund is available for
cancellations after holiday package
has commenced or in respect of any
tours, accommodation, meals or any
other services not utilised.
Land only service fee: If booking
land only with Qantas Holidays, a
minimum stay of 1 night
accommodation or 1 day car hire
is required and a service fee of $25
per booking will apply.
Product descriptions: Descriptions
featured are based on current
international hotel guides and
information provided by hotels
and suppliers. Any facilities shown
as included may change at any time.
Qantas Holidays makes no specific
representation as to the standard,
class or description of accommodation
or services provided by third parties.
Maps and photographs: Maps are
shown for general information and
may not necessarily reflect actual
routings, locations or services
provided. Photographs show places in
the geographic areas, but may not be
included in the holiday. Hotel room
photographs/descriptions are
representative only, actual rooms
occupied may vary in decor and
inclusions from those shown. Many
images are supplied courtesy of tourist
bureaus, hotels and tour operators.
Health and immigration: You are
responsible for all visa, passport,
immigration, quarantine, customs,
health and other requirements of
the countries visited or transited.
A valid passport (with at least six
months validity) must be carried
by each person. Qantas Holidays is
not responsible for your failure to
ensure that you comply with
these requirements.
Baggage: Please check your travel
documents for applicable baggage
allowances.
Pre-departure contact: You must
provide a telephone number or
address where you can be reached,
if necessary, within 24 hours prior to
your departure from Australia.
Not included in price of holiday:
You are responsible for the cost of
your own travel arrangements from
your home town to and from the
international departure city (as set out
in the brochure). Anything not
specifically included in the holiday
package is at your expense.
Air travel: Air travel is subject to
the conditions and limitations of
liability set out in the airline’s
conditions of carriage.
Booking arrangements: The person
making a booking will be deemed
to have accepted these Booking
Conditions on behalf of everyone
named in the booking. All
communications from us will usually
be sent to your travel consultant.
Your travel consultant is responsible
for forwarding payments made by
you to us.
Limit of liability: To the extent
permitted by law, Qantas Holidays
excludes all liability for any loss or
damage whatsoever (including but
not limited to physical and
psychological injury, and loss or
damage to property of whatever
nature) that may arise in any way in
connection with the offer or supply
of goods or services through Qantas
Holidays or any third parties, or in
connection with the supply of such
goods or services. If the law implies a
condition or warranty that cannot be
excluded, Qantas Holidays’ liability for
a breach of the condition or warranty
will be limited as determined by
Qantas Holidays to the re-supply or
payment of the cost of re-supplying
the relevant goods or services.
Events beyond our control: Qantas
Holidays does not accept liability
whatsoever for injury, damage, loss,
delay, additional expenses or
inconvenience caused directly or
indirectly by any events which are
beyond its control including, but
not limited to, war, civil disturbance,
fire, floods, acts of God, acts of
Government or of any other
authorities, accident to or failure
of machinery or equipment or
industrial action.
Destination passenger enquiries:
Qantas Holidays makes no
representations as to the safety,
conditions or other issues that may
exist at any destination. You should
obtain travel advice, including from
the Australian Department of Foreign
Affairs and Trade
(www.smartraveller.gov.au).
Law of contract: These Booking
Conditions are governed by the laws
of Australia and any action arising
under them or in any way connected
with the holiday may be brought only
in a court in Australia, subject to any
law which is expressly inconsistent
with this.

Please read these Booking Conditions
carefully as they apply to all bookings
accepted by Qantas Holidays. Qantas
Holidays is not itself a transport, tour,
event or accommodation provider. It
acts only as an agent for those service
providers. You should obtain and read
the applicable service provider’s terms
and conditions as they may limit or
exclude liability in respect of death,
personal injury, delay and loss or
damage to baggage.
Brochure: This brochure should be
used as a guide only. Please refer to
your travel consultant for full details
including updated pricing.
How to book: Contact your licensed
or AFTA travel consultant who will
request a reservation for you. Please
note that all requests for reservations
are subject to availability. Any quote
given is an estimate only of the price.
Changes in prices and itineraries:
Prices are provided as a guide only
and may vary due to peak demand
periods, changes in surcharges, fees
or taxes or currency fluctuations.
Please check all prices and information
with your travel consultant before
booking. The price of your holiday
may change at any time up to 30 days
before your departure if any new
surcharges, fees or taxes are
introduced or if any existing
surcharges, fees or taxes are varied,
even after you have paid all or part
of the quoted price of your holiday. If
we have to change any part of your
booking for reasons beyond our
control, for example, if an airline
changes its schedules, if a hotelier
overbooks, or if there are any changes
in applicable surcharges, fees or taxes,
we will notify you. If any such
changes result in your holiday costing
more or otherwise being materially
different, then you may cancel the
holiday and we will refund any
monies already paid less any charges
imposed by suppliers.
Deposits and final payments:
International bookings (for travel from
Australia). A deposit of $165 per
person is payable within 7 days of
confirmation of your reservation. You
will be notified at the time of your
reservation if any additional deposit
requirements apply. Full payment for
your holiday package is required at
least 30 days prior to departure, or by
sale end date or payment deadline
specified in individual package
conditions, whichever is the earliest.
If for any reason your balance is not
received by us by the due date, we
reserve the right to treat your booking
as cancelled and to apply the
appropriate cancellation charges.
A deposit holds services requested
but does not guarantee prices.
Late bookings: For bookings made
within 7 days of departure a fee of
$20 will apply.
