This can be seen through the collection of original artwork by Megargee displayed throughout the property, the award-winning Artist-in-Residence Series and the Southwestern artwork showcased in the Hermosa Inn Art Walk and in our artful American cuisine. 4 While it’s easy to think of The Hermosa Inn and LON’s at the Hermosa as an exclusive boutique resort and a premier restaurant, it extends beyond that by providing a window on the world of cultural arts that embraces the spirit of original owner/architect, cowboy artist and Arizona legend, Alonzo “Lon” Megargee. Bringing well-known artists and authors here for intimate gatherings was what Lon himself might have done. Our dinner series provides an intimate, salon-style evening with nationally renowned artists over a multi-course wine-paired dinner, while our brunch series features artist demonstrations with local emerging artists. We are also very proud of our newest venture, the Blue Door Art Studio & Gallery, which offers plein aire painting classes, private lessons, and group lessons for hotel guests as well as locals. We invite you to join us for the events that we will be hosting in the eleventh year of what has grown to be a very popular Artist in Residence program due to your continued support and encouragement.
