This means that you have more access to great data connections for your smartphone. All the new smartphones sold by Nemont have Wi-Fi capability built-in which makes it super easy and convenient to connect to a network near you. Wi-Fi is set as the default data connection when left on, so it will connect automatically if you are at a saved location such as your home or work. What’s the best way to do this? Answer: The best way to transfer your files is to use the Microsoft tool designed specifically for this task, Windows Easy Transfer. With this tool, you can easily transfer user accounts, files and folders (including documents, photos and music), and the other information (such as Internet favorites, email messages and program settings). With Easy Transfer, you can decide how you want to pull the data from your old computer over to your new computer. Your options are: • Through a network connection • Using a CD or other removable media • With a special cable (called the Easy Transfer cable) that you can order online or pick up at an electronics store. You’ll need to start Easy Transfer on both computers, choose what information you want to transfer and follow the instructions to complete the task. Keep in mind you will still need to install applications on your new computer such as the Microsoft Office suite, financial software, and any other porgrams you may have on your old system. Also note that transferring data can be a lengthy process; the actual time will vary depending on the method you choose (network, media, or cable) and the amount of data you have. 3 Business Spotlight Bergie’s Homemade Ice Cream Shawn Bergstrom, Owner On Hwy 2, 14 miles east of Glasgow, you can’t help but see the Bergie’s Home made Ice Cream Cafe & Gifts sign welcoming all to Nashua, Montana. 4 Bergie’s Homemade Ice Cream Bergie’s Homemade Ice Cream has been an important part of the small community of Nashua, Montana for over 25 years. Customers come for the sweet treats, or the hot coffee and they always find friendly, familar faces. Purchased by Larry Bergstrom, a former science teacher, in 1985, Bergie’s was originally located in downtown Nashua. In 1991, a new location was built right off of Hwy 2. The orginal soda fountain was moved from the downtown location to the new site keeping the old soda fountain feel alive. After years of making ice cream, Larry decided to sell the business in 2002. Portland, OR called Voo Doo Doughnut who created a maple stick with bacon “sprinkles.” He has also made a beer & pretzel ice cream that is made using a rich porter beer and chocolate covered pretzels. These are flavors he has only tried out on friends and family, but be on the lookout for interesting combinations showing up at the ice cream counter at Bergie’s. While ice cream may be in the name, Bergie’s has a lunch and dinner menu that will keep you coming back. Shawn developed his culinary talents at the Western Culinary Institute which is now the Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Portland, Oregon. He prides himself on making everything from scratch including his bourbon barbeque sauce which can be found on the pulled pork sandwich. The menu changes with the seasons so there is always a reason to stop in for lunch. Shawn has implemented some other changes in the business including introducing a credit/debit card machine in order to accept those types of payments. The credit card machine uses the Internet which helps free up a phone line. Shawn said, “Internet from Nemont has helped our business by allowing us to accept payment faster and without disruption to our phone line.” Above: Scoops of Bergie’s homemade ice cream. Seven flavors are always available and rotate often. When Shawn Bergstrom, Larry’s son, had a chance to purchase the business in 2011, he remodeled the building and reworked the menu before reopening in June of last year. Shawn even takes Bergie’s homemade ice cream on the road. Bergie’s sets up a trailer at the Northeast Montana Fair in Glasgow each summer. The trailer is easy to spot because of the line of fair goers waiting to enjoy their sweet treat. There are always seven flavor offerings at Bergie’s which rotate every few days in the summer. Traditional chocolate and vanilla are always available, but more creative flavors such as red hot or the ever popular maple nut appear as well. Shawn says, “If we are out of maple nut, we definitely hear about it. It has been a local favorite for years.” Shawn is also constantly experimenting with new and different flavor combinations. Some of his recent concoctions are maple bacon which was inspired by a company in Above: The antique soda fountain counter that was moved from the orgininal downtown location of Bergie’s Homemade Ice cream. 5 Community Calendar Area events are listed free of charge. Hearing Aid Compatibility Did you know that Nemont carries mobile phones that are rated for compatibility with hearing aids? We have many to choose from and a knowledgable staff to assist you. Below are some common questions regarding hearing aid compatibility. Q. What does hearing mean for hearing aids? aid compatibility (HAC) A. Using the same measurement standard that wireless devices use to test for HAC, hearing aids can also be tested and rated for compatibility. This standard measures and rates the hearing aid’s immunity to the typical electromanetic outputs from wireless devices. An M1 or T1 is the poorest immunity rating and the M4 or T4 is the best immunity rating. Your healthcare professional may assist you in determining if your hearing aid has been rated. Q. May I try a wireless device before I buy it? A. Yes, it is advisable to try a wireless device with your hearing aid in the store before making a purchase. Q. Do HAC compliant wireless different from other devices? devices look any A. No. For more information on hearing aid compatibility, please visit www.nemont.net/wireless and choose the Hearing Aid Compatibility link on the left side menu. Win a $25 credit!
