As we have seen an increase in the number of local dogs turned in due to their owners’ financial hardship, we want to help prevent a pet from losing their loving home by providing free meals to pets. The Mealson-Wheels-for-Pets program will benefit both pets and their owners, particularly seniors who are on a fixed income as well as pet owners who are suffering from job loss. See our web site http://www.saveadog.org/training.asp for details. Save A Dog is a 501c3 tax exempt Humane Society whose mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and find adoptable homes for abandoned dogs. We are a holistically-minded organization that believes in providing the highest quality care to our rescued dogs. We give the dogs vitamins, herbal supplements, and probiotics from day one as our shelter protocol. Each night the new arrivals are serenaded to animal healing music while enjoying a fresh meaty bone on their kuranda beds. We have a very strong foster home program so that the dogs are transitioned into the home environment as soon as possible. We educate our adopters on holistic care for their new dog and our Retail room carries pet food and all the holistic supplements at a very low cost to our adopters and supporters. Please come visit us during our open hours. Save A Dog was incorporated in 1999 and is funded entirely by private donations. Please keep the historical grounds of the Wayside Inn litter free. For your convenience, doggy clean-up bags are inside your goodie bag, as well as all our Booths.
