By Seif Kamel Images courtesy of GUFRAM BOCCA Sofa 52 NOVEMBER 2013 JOLLY ROGER Chair A symbol of the hardiness and daring of the pirates; this weirdo chair was designed by Fabio Novembre, as one of his grandfathers worked as a pirate. Giving homage to our origins, this chair, made out of linear polyethylene, encourages the feelings of audacity and bravery. BELLAFORZA Table The PRATONE Lounge This lounge is definitely matchless. Its uniqueness is derived from the long green stalks among which we can sink in a marvelous mix between the freedom of the outdoor and the coziness of the indoors. Designed by CERETTI / DEROSSO / ROSSI, this lounge was inspired by the designers when they used to sit on the grass when they were younger! One of the shining trademarks of Italian design throughout contemporary history with creations positioned in many museums in different sections of the world, GUFRAM has reveled some of their latest designs. The key factor in the success of this Italian design master is the magical blend between design, various types of art, and the inspiration of nature. Fasten your seat belts; we are going on a journey between wonders! COLONNA Lounge Imagine sitting on top of one of the stone capitals of a marvelous column of the ancient Greek temples? What would it feel like? Made out of polyurethane and designed by Studio 65, this uniquely shaped lounge allows the seater an exceptional feeling of luxury! BOCCA Sofa This giant lip-shaped sofa is one of the most popular creations of Studio 65 and produced by GUFRAM in 1971. It is in fact displayed in many museums around the world. The idea of the sofa originated actually from the 1935 Portrait of Mae West by Dali, the famous surreal artist and the hot lips of famous Hollywood actresses. This season BOCCA is dressed in black and pink PRATONE lounge BELLAFORZA Table Designed by Denis Santachiara, the BELLAFORZA table is mainly inspired by the Italian “futuristi”, an artistic movement that originated in the early 20th century. This table; with fixed tripod in metal with matte varnishing and the top in ultra clear glass, symbolizes the concept that we should all respect cultural diversity. The Cactus Totem A totem is a being, object, or symbol representing an animal or plant that serves as an emblem of a group of people. This Cactus is a totem of the free wild imagination and humor of the designer; DROCCO/MELLO, who liberated himself from all physical constraints and borders to create this popular piece of art! 53
