Jacques Ogg performs on both harpsichord and fortepiano. He teaches at the
Royal Conservatory in The Hague. He has
been a member of the Orchestra of the
18th Century and has performed regularly
with Concerto Palatino. Jacques Ogg
is artistic director of the Lyra Baroque
Orchestra. Jacques is also artistic director
of this year’s Early Music Day.

Wilbert Hazelzet has dedicated himself
to the baroque flauto traverse for over
three decades. He is principal flautist for
the Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra and is
a regular guest soloist with The Sonnerie
Ensemble, London Baroque, Music For
Awhile and the Passamezzo Trio Bilbao.
Mr. Hazelzet teaches at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague and the Hogeschool
voor de Kunsten in Utrecht, Netherlands.

Julie Elhard appears regularly as a
soloist and chamber musician, with the
St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, Apollo’s
Fire (Clevelend’s Baroque orchestra)
and The Lyra Baroque Orchestra. Julie
was awarded a Jerome Foundation grant
to study vielle and early string playing
with Margriet Tindemans and received
a Performing Artist Certificate from the
Royal Conservatory of Music in The
Hague, Netherlands.
Julie has created a Suzuki-style program for children to play the gamba.
This is Julie’s sixth year directing Early Music Day.

the sixth annual Early Music
Day on Sunday, February 10,
Georg Philipp Telemann 2013. Professionals, amateurs,
and enthusiasts will convene
to celebrate early music through participation in a
performance of Telemann’s chamber music.
Experience the thrill of playing Telemann chamber
pieces led by Lyra’s music director and international
harpsichordist, Jacques Ogg. Play alongside more
world-class performers Wilbert Hazelzet, Clea
Galhano, Tami Morse and Marc Levine in this
workshop, and then perform these pieces as a part of
Lyra’s Family concert series at 4:00 p.m. Experience
the Baroque like you never have before!

Bach and the Flute

Wilbert Hazelzet, the world’s leading expert on the wooden
18th-century flute, joins Lyra players for some of Bach’s
most beloved works, including the Orchestral Suite No. 2
and Brandenburg Concerto No. 5. Local recorder virtuoso
Clea Galhano joins for Telemann’s double concerto in e
minor for flute, recorder, and orchestra, and Telemann’s
concerto in f major for recorder and orchestra.
$10 tickets are available to Early Music Day participants.

Participants will join the orchestra or chamber
ensemble. Faculty includes: Clea Galhano, Julie
Elhard, Marc Levine, Tami Morse.
