You will also love spending time on the beaches. Some of the best beaches are on the east coast such as
Mylopotamos, Damouchari and Agios Ioannis. On the west coast, some of the best beaches are Boufa Beach and
Kala Nera Beach. The west coast also has some good ones like Afissos beaches (Lagoudi, Abovos and Kalifteri) as
well as private beaches which give you total privacy and tranquility.
A vacation in Pelion is the perfect opportunity to sample authentic dishes. The taverns and cafes serve a variety of
them. This includes boubari, a local sausage, variety of fishes; spetsofai which is a spicy sausage stew made with
peppers and red sauce and is also a local traditional dish. Vegetable specialties are also served and so are cheese
specialties like feta cheese and galotyri . Karidopita and mpaklavas, a sweet pastry, are two desserts you have to try.
