Course Description
Starting line is in the meadow by the entrance gate. Racers will sprint up the road climb going by the
shelter that registration is held at. Following the gravel road for the few hundred feet racers set into the
course loops at the mailbox set-in (This is the same as it has been in the past). The trail goes through
several features some optional others not. Bouldergeist will be the first main feature that all racers should
be careful on. It is over giant rock slabs and is into a creek. 4 miles into the course there is an optional exit
that will be utilized for the modified lap that the Men’s B and Women’s A will be doing. Otherwise racers
continue on the course and will approach The Gauntlet. This is an uphill rock garden that will slash your
tires or snag your Rear Derailleur off if you are not careful. At the top, racers will proceed along a wider
trail where on the right the entrance to Freefall will open up. Only the Men’s A is to do the mile long
Freefall rock garden. The course then enters a tight section where you need to finesse your handlebars
through the tight trees called The Jungle. After The Jungle the modified lap enters back in just before The
Rock-Ness Monster where again racers should be careful of the loose baby-head rocks in the downhill
turns. The course then changes tones and starts a switchback climb up Charlies’ Mountain Tuff. It is not a
lot of elevation but the tight switchbacks slowly wear a rider out. For all the work thus far racers get to
experience San-Lee’s newest addition of the Gravity Park. Racers will be sent down Mega-Jump with its
table tops and berms followed by a power climb back to the top so they can set in on Shock-&-Awe to
take them out to the last section of trail. The last bit, named the Dragon’s Tail, is filled with punchy
climbs, tight sudden turns, as well as loose gravel and is San-Lee’s last attempt at knocking you off your
bike and was experienced the previous day on the TT course. Racers then pop out into the meadow and
need to climb up the road again to the shelter to cross the finish line or continue on for their second lap.
