MultiEncoder
Stream MultiEncoder – it is a coder of input AV-signals in real time, dedicated to creating of IP
streams with needed parameters. This is a separate installation and requires an additional license.
Stream MultiEncoder supports multi-channels capture cards, manufactured by Stream Labs:
 Stream MS416
 Stream MS2/4
 Stream MS2+/4+
 Stream MH4LM

How it works
This picture presents operation of Stream MultiEncoder.
After installation of capture card and configuring (locally or remotely) of transport streams, user
can deploy them further as IP (UDP) stream with Stream Labs’ servers; and third party
software/hardware as well.
These are examples:
 MultiScreen server
 MultiRec server
 VLC Player
Installation of Stream MultiEncoder.
unch a program and press Next
Select destination folder. By default, this is C:\Program Files\Stream Labs\Stream
MultiEncoder. If you have no objections, press Next
Next, select a package:
 Full Installation. Includes WEB server, GUI scripts and Encoder Service – Includes webserver (Apache), graphic interface and encoder services. This package has to be installed during first
installation or after un-installation of the program.
 Update Stream MultiEncoder GUI scripts and Encoder Service. This package has to be
installed only for program update since it does not contain web-server. Go Next.
Set port for web-server (default value 80) and administrator’s email address. Go Next.
Press Install.
You should see window for successful installation. Press Finish.
Start of program and general view
There are two options for launch of Stream MultiEncoder

 Browser
 Windows Command line
Enter http://localhost:80 or http://127.0.0.1:80 into address field. If during installation you have set
a different port, then use that one.
Use
button for login and password admin\admin
After login, you will receive User Interface of an encoder as shown below.
Menu of Stream MultiEncoder consists of:
 Statistics
 Hardware
 Streams
 Sign in\Sign Out
 About
 CPU load
Statistics
Information about configuration of transport streams.
On picture below, you can see configuration, named MUX. It consists of two services with settings
for h264 and AAC streams. Output from multiplexer is directed to 230.0.0.1:1200 with 4 Mbps speed.
The stream is configured properly and has status
(OK)
Hardware
Information about capture cards.
Card SL MH4LM is used in this example. There are two inputs – Channel #1 CVBS (analog) и
Channel #3 SD-SDI (digital).
During first installation, you need to setup interface in order to be able to operate.
Stream MultiEncoder supports the following inputs:
CVBS (NTSC, PAL, SECAM)
SD-SDI (SMPTE-259M, 10 bit, 270 Mbit/s)
HD-SDI (SMPTE-292M, 10 bit, 1,5 Gbit/s)
ASI
Scale can be used for custom re-scaling.
Select channel for work with Stream MultiEncoder using button
. . However, it is
recommended to check functionality of the capture card and settings for its inputs.
You can preview input signal using button
Preview window will show up in place of label

Image, received from generator of test signal TPG-8, proves that all setting are correct. If you do
not see this picture, then check settings for the card again.
Streams
Menu entry Streams is the most important.
Let us review a toolbar
 Refresh settings for all transport streams
 Import settings for Streams
 Export settings for Streams
 Add new configuration
Once you create new configuration, you should see the following interface.
Enter configuration name using tab Set Name and switch to a tab Elementary Streams.
In a new window you will see 4 codecs: 2 video (h264, mp2v) and 2 audio (AAC, MPA)
Below you can see interfaces with settings for all of them and one is presented in detail.
