Percentage who said (unaided) they were keeping their tires properly inflated tripled from prior year. 25 20 Inflate Tires 15 10 PDEQ began promoting proper tire inflation in February of 2014. 22 7 5 0 2013 2014 Potential Impacts of PDEQ Tire Inflation Education Program • 632,997 vehicles (<1 ton) in Pima County (2012 American Community Survey) • Properly inflated tires can save 144 gallons of gasoline/year/vehicle (American Tire Industry Association) • If 22% are keeping tires properly inflated, potential for over 20 million gallons of gasoline not purchased or emitted from vehicles annually in Pima County.
