Potential Impacts of PDEQ Tire
Inflation Education Program
• 632,997 vehicles (<1 ton) in Pima County
(2012 American Community Survey)
• Properly inflated tires can save 144 gallons of
gasoline/year/vehicle (American Tire Industry Association)
• If 22% are keeping tires properly inflated,
potential for over 20 million gallons of
gasoline not purchased or emitted from
vehicles annually in Pima County.
