Summer Vacation is probably the best time of the year for you all; it’s time for loads of ice
cream, time to visit grandparents and getting pampered to no end and of course bonding with
cousins. School is fun too, with learning happening at all times, summer vacation can also be a
time for learning with lots of activities around.
Here are few tasks for you to be completed during the vacation. Do remember to complete
the given tasks after reading the criteria carefully. You need to bring your research work to
school on the first day of school without fail.

Some Tips to make this holiday special:

Have a family dinner everyday of the holidays.

Play board games with your parents and sibling and show them who is the
smartest.

Visit your grandparents and relatives whom you have not seen for a few years.

Spend some quality time with an elderly person in the family or neighbourhood.

Some do’s and don’ts during summer vacation:

 Drink lots of water.
 Carry a water bottle everywhere you go.
 Wear light cotton clothes.
 Have plenty of seasonal fruits like musk-melon, water-melon, orange, cucumber, etc.

Fun Activities
 Read an age approriate storybook and make a scrapbook on the characters involved.
 Along with the parent watch the movie ‘Jungle Book’ and learn the song Baloo sings along with
Mowgli “Bare necessities.....!”
Research Task
Task 1:Make a booklet on food groups
Criteria
 Collect pictures of different food items. (Minimum 5 pictures of each food group)
 Make a booklet with colour papers.
 Sort the food items into different food groups
 Paste them in the booklet, label them and write the functions of each group.
Task 2: Task 2: Name any 10 Healthy food of your choice and reflect your understanding
of number concept in the given format.
Criteria:

Make a list of any 10 names of Healthy food.


Tulips

What is your favorite type of flower? Some people like roses.
Other people like daffodils or daisies. I think the most beautiful
kind of flower is the tulip.
Tulips don't grow from seeds. They grow from bulbs buried
under the soil. I plant them in the fall. In the spring, the flowers
bloom.
Tulips come in many colors, like red, white, yellow, purple
and pink. Some are all one color. Others are striped and
have more than one color. Still others look like they were
dipped in paint.
Some tulips have petals with
smooth edges. “Parrot tulips” are fun
flowers because have edges that
look like feathers.
Tulips grow in many places. Some
cities have a tulip festival every
year. The tulips’ bright colors are a
sure sign of spring.
