Introduction
ChromaDex has established a Tea
Services Division to meet the complex
needs of a rapidly changing global tea
industry.
In the USA alone, sales of tea beverages have
skyrocketed from sales of less than $1 billion
dollars annually in 1990 to an estimated $6.8
billion in 2008. Forecasts point towards sales
topping $10 billion in the next two years (USA).
Sales of consumer products containing tea as an
ingredient now outnumber beverage teas sold
worldwide. Yet, in spite of the desirable increase
in demand for tea products, especially specialty
tea oriented, a number of factors are adding
extra pressure to the otherwise stellar industry
growth patterns; intense competitor, regulatory
and producing origin actions are shaking up
the tea business landscape. ChromaDex Tea
Services are modeled after our successful
natural products industry divisions which have
productively served companies within the dietary
supplement (nutraceutical), food and beverage,
cosmetic, and pharmaceutical sectors for many

Tea Analysis Averages
ChromaDex has developed a tea analysis method for the specified compounds below. Several
of the basic tea types have been tested during an internal study which has generated a basic
set of averages for each tea type as an 8 oz. cup of tea. Additional testing programs will create
a viable baseline model for the various tea regions around the world.

ChromaDex will soon offer a comprehensive range of verification services, where tea related
businesses can send samples of their tea products of several different types for origin, purity, and
potency verification.
ChromaDex will start with the launch of “Polyphenol Content Verified” and “Decaffination Verified.”
