From the port to the beaches, Le Cap d’Agde is
a mosaic of holiday places, where the typical
architecture blends harmoniously with the
Languedoc villages, always respectful of the

The Grecian City
From the 5th century BC the Phocaeans, then
the Greeks shaped this city, “Agathé Tyché”,
(good fortune). Over the centuries, maritime trade
has brought prosperity to Agde and today its
26 centuries of history are visible in its streets
and archaeological treasures.
The authentic charm of a fishing village
This appealing little village with its colourful,
family atmosphere is situated on the left bank
of the Hérault River. It has kept the charm of an
authentic coastal village resort, while blending
tradition with holiday fun.
A pine forest beside the sea
La Tamarissière is a protected natural corner in
the shade of a pine forest, just opposite Le Grau
d’Agde, a tranquil and charming spot for holidays
right on the water’s edge.

When approaching from the North-East and the East, take the
southward route around the Lauze lighthouse then follow a
heading of 357° towards the summit of Mount Saint-Loup,
between the two channel lighthouses.
When approaching from the South or the West, take a wide berth
around the islet of Brescou (with the South Cardinal buoy to
port), then follow a heading of 357° towards the summit of Mount
Saint-Loup, as before. Do not take the route north of Brescou.
Lauze lighthouse: Green flashing light (4 seconds). South Cardinal: Six white quick-flashing lights + flashing white light (15s).
Islet of Brescou: Two flashing lights, red and white (6s). West Jetty:
Red flashing light (4s). East Jetty: Green isophase light (4s).

The Welcome Booth “Bulle d’accueil” is open
every day, all year round (except for Christmas
Day and New Year’s Day). In July and August, it is
open from 9:00 to 20:00.
On Saturdays, it remains open all night, until 5:00
the next morning. This night service enables visitors arriving late to collect their accommodation
keys from the booth (subject to prior agreement
between the client and the letting agency).
