Bricks by Daas Baksteen give every project a distinctive look. They are not only
extremely durable, but also timelessly beautiful.
Check out our impressive credentials and get ready to be amazed!
Our facing bricks and pavers are manufactured at three plants: De Nijverheid and
De Volharding in Zeddam, and De Vlijt in Winterswijk. These well-equipped plants

produce hand-made bricks, Revito moulded bricks, waterstruck bricks and
extruded bricks using the latest techniques.
Innovation takes centre stage
At Daas Baksteen we strongly believe in innovation. We are constantly monitoring
market needs and demands, responding with new products, textures, sizes,
colours and facade systems. An example are our revolutionary products, like
DuecoBrick, a sustainable and ecological wall cladding that requires 55% fewer
resources than traditional masonry, and ClickBrick®, our patented, fully reusable
dry stack system. Under the ClickBrick® return guarantee you return your bricks
after the lifespan of your project so that we can re-use them for a new sustainable
project.

Our bricks are green
Our clay extraction sites are getting greener by the day. Following the extraction,
the land is cultivated into new green areas, where wetlands become new
biotopes for flora and fauna. Did you know that the influx of clay is greater than
the amount of clay that is required for the production of coarse ceramics, making
it a renewable resource? Behind our factory in Zeddam lies the largest solar park
in the Netherlands; 100% of the power generated in this 8-ha solar park with
36,000 solar panels goes towards our production. Moreover, we have reduced
the size of our bricks and we have launched the Dueco wall cladding system,
which allow us to save on raw materials, energy and transport, giving sustainability
a whole new meaning.

We join forces to build an even better world
Daas Baksteen enjoys working with other parties - from architects to clients and
contractors - to create Walls of Fame! We also aim to be a source of inspiration
for our partners. Our extensive range of bricks allows for every creative idea to
become a smart solution. Together we aim to build a better world!

Design, brick by brick
D-coat by Daas Baksteen, timeless beauty
are just what it takes. You can choose from countless colours and sizes to create
continue to look as good as new, even fifty years down the line. A special
any design. Take our Zeddammertjes for example. Their striking narrow size
water-repellent treatment coats every brick with a waterproof and vapour-
allows for a larger air cavity, making them the ideal product for post-insulation
permeable layer. This ‘D-coat’ guarantees a lasting colour and repels dirt and
or for building a new wall on an existing foundation. Gone are the days when
water. The result: long-lasting, beautiful facades without white residue. Now
extruded bricks were only used to create a sleek look. The rear of the bricks, also
that’s what we call durable!
A powerful and fresh design requires customised brickwork. Our extruded bricks
Facades must be built to last. At Daas Baksteen, that’s our specialty! Our facades
known as the ‘fuss side’, can be used to achieve a romantic, worn effect.

Brick Plant
De Nijverheid, a solid foundation
Our brick factory De Nijverheid is a gem in our production process. This is where
Extruded brick sizes
(both standard and custom sizes are available)
we make our extruded bricks, which are usually ordered in custom rather than
standard sizes. Purpose made exeptional bricks.
Tabvel
Take our Zeddammertje, for example, with its unique size of 240 x 65 x 50 mm. Or
WF – HF – WDF – DWF – BDF – NF – CBF – AF – ZF
Azewijns formaat, which measures 240 x 90 x 50 mm. With their high dimensional
accuracy, these bricks offer exceptional processing opportunities. From bonding
10
WF : 210 x 100 x 50 mm
HF : 240 x 90 x 40 mm
WDF: 215 x 102 x 65 mm
DWF: 210 x 100 x 100 mm
BDF : 240 x 50 x 115 mm
NF : 240 x 115 x 71 mm
CBF : 242 x 90 x 102 mm
AF : 240 x 90 x 50 mm
ZF : 240 x 65 x 50 mm
to thin-bed processing and brickwork without weep holes to highlight beautiful,
slightly recessed horizontal joints… anything is possible.
Keen on a rougher or chunkier look? Then the large, double Waalformaat bricks
or NF size bricks are just what you need. Once again you can choose from a
seemingly endless colour range suited to all architectural styles. Discover endless
design possibilities thanks to De Nijverheid!

Revito: modern bricks with an ‘old-school’ look
Discover Revito, a prime example of the innovative power of Daas Baksteen.
This brick range was specifically developed for redevelopment projects in old
city centres. These bricks may look like those used in the early 20th century, but
they boast an exceptional, contemporary quality. In a nutshell, these are timeless
bricks to be integrated in the facades of existing buildings.

Certificates
Daas Baksteen has obtained the cradle-to-cradle certificate of the
Environmental Protection and Encouragement Agency (EPEA), the
research institute of Michael Braungart and William McDonough,
founders of Cradle to Cradle. This certificate is only granted to
products that are recyclable or can be continuously re-used in the
industrial process. Daas Baksteen was the first manufacturer of
ceramic building materials to receive this certificate.
Assessment
Before obtaining this certificate, the organisation was assessed
at various levels, with the EPEA criteria strongly exceeding the
environmental legislation in place.
1.Material, material purity (composition of raw materials) and
information on raw materials and suppliers.
2.Recycling potential: the extent to which the products can be
infinitely recycled (up-cycling instead of down-cycling to waste).
3. Energy usage: the extent to which renewable energy is used.
4. Water management: the extent to which water usage is managed
in an environmentally-friendly way and re-used through water
purification and closed water circuits.
5. Working conditions: the extent to which Daas Baksteen and its
suppliers adhere to sound ethics and proper health and safety
conditions throughout the raw materials chain.
