It’s a promise to consumers, a commitment to the environment and an honorable way of life, where the values of honesty, integrity and hard work are part of the job description. North Dakota Stockmen’s Association members recognize the importance of preserving and enhancing this way of life for this and future generations. That’s why they established the North Dakota Stockmen’s Foundation in 2008 – to provide opportunities in beef-related promotion, research, scholarship, leadership and building and to leave a legacy behind. The Stockmen’s Foundation is a 501(c)3 organization, which means that most contributions are tax-deductible. While only five years old, the Foundation has already made significant contributions: • Twenty college students studying for beef industry and related careers have received a $500 scholarship from the Foundation. • The Foundation helped bring relief to producers who were devastated by the relentless floods and blizzards of Winter/Spring 2009. With partners, the Foundation provided more than $50,000 in direct aid. • The Foundation helped restore the beauty of the Stockmen’s headquarters through an exterior renovation project. • The Foundation and the Association have teamed up to bring relief to ranchers whose lives were turned upside down following the deadly winter storm Atlas. The organizations have given $20,000 in direct aid and have established the Aid for Atlas Disaster Relief Fund to facilitate private donations to connect those who want to help with those who need it.
