Presidents Thoughts - Altoona Corvette Club
June 2016 Presidents Thoughts By Club President Randy Johnson Hi Everyone I was very pleased with the turnout at our Kick Off Breakfast on Saturday, May7 th, at the Prime Sirloin Restaurant in Duncansville, with 40 club members attending. The food was very good and there was a nice selection at the buffet and my thoughts were, what a nice way to spend a Saturday morning with my Corvette friends. It was unfortunate that the weather did not cooperate for us to get the Corvettes out for a drive after the meal, but we will make it up somehow this summer. We had 12 members sign up for the Most Miles Driven contest at breakfast and I hope to see a few more participate in this event. It’s all about getting these Corvettes out and having some fun. On Saturday, May 14th, we held our first Morning Coffee at Dunkin Donuts in Altoona and I, along with ten other club members, had a nice time drinking coffee and eating those tasty doughnuts. It was simply a nice relaxing time of conversation with Corvette friends. I’m looking forward to our next Morning Coffee at Dunkin Donuts on Saturday June 25th. So, come on out and have a cup of coffee with me and some interesting conversation. On Friday evening June 17th we are having our first Zeigler Chevrolet Cruise-in for this year, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm and if the weather is nice I expect we will have a large turnout. The cars start showing up at this event around 4:00 pm, so I’m planning on being there by 3:45 to park cars. If anyone would have the time to come help with the parking, please let me know, I would appreciate the help. Once again, I would like to thank all of you for giving me the opportunity of being president of the Altoona Corvette Club. Have a nice day Randy Coffee & Donuts ▪ 5/14/16 June Birthday’s 4th—Donna Linn 12th—Jean Geist 4th—Rene Winslow 18th—Mary Ellen Gerraughty HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! 10th—Ed Dobson 26th—John Bohn Page 2 Altoona Corvette Club Upcoming Events CLUB EVENTS ACC Officers Meeting Tuesday, June 7, 2016 - 7:00 p.m. to ?
