Netcasters
Evangelistic Team
Information Packet
2011-2012
The Netcasters Evangelistic Team (N.E.T.) brings a laymen-friendly version of the NETSeminars to local
churches as a one-week module. Many pastors have been
blessed and stirred at the seminars. Now, there is an opportunity to take the seminar home with you— trainers
and all.
The Netcasters Evangelism Training course is designed
to equip the saints to do the work of the ministry.
Netcasters equips in three major areas: life-changing
truth in accessing the power of the Holy Spirit, clarifying
truth in understanding the theology of the Gospel, and
practical truth in applying a methodology for declaring
the Gospel in the power of the Spirit. Netcasters incorporates much biblical terminology in an effort to keep the
Gospel presentation true to the Word. Also, Netcasters
aims at thoroughness in the Gospel. Since the Holy Spirit
works through the faculties of the believer, Netcasters
enlarges one’s capacity for usefulness.
The team is led by Evangelist Jonathan Barber and family. Jonathan and his wife, Rebecca, have served the Lord
in evangelism since 2008. They are joined by a team of
college students and graduates who function as
Netcasters trainers. The burden of the team is not only to
preach for evangelism and train for evangelism, but to
actually lead people victoriously out into the harvest
fields of evangelism.
For more information or to schedule a meeting, please
contact us at (414) 678-9609 or send us an e-mail at
NET@RevivalFocus.com. We are excited about this mission to equip local churches to flood the harvest fields
with Spirit-filled laborers for God’s
glory. Join us in the cause of revival
and evangelism!
The module runs from Wednesday evening
to Monday evening, including all day Saturday and incorporating much of Sunday.
The week includes:

Preaching sessions focusing
on the Spirit-filled life

Teaching sessions explaining
the Netcasters Gospel presentation

Prayer seasons seeking the
face of the Lord


Preparation
Prayer

Pulpit Prayer: Pray from the pulpit weekly for the meeting, beginning at least six weeks prior
to the meetings.

Special Prayer Meetings: Cottage Prayer Meetings in homes; 24-hour Prayer Chain before the
team comes; Saturday morning or evening meetings (do what you feel would be the most profitable for your church).

TV Fast: You might suggest that your church people not watch television prior to and during
the meeting. It would be far better if they would use this time to pray, prepare their hearts, and
study the assignments that were sent ahead of the meeting.

Corporate Prayer During the Week Itself: Evangelist Barber would like to lead these prayer
times if at all possible. In leading these times, he will instruct the people in the matter of corporate prayer. This is a crucial part of the week and a crucial determining factor as to whether or
not the work begun will continue.
Payment (see page 8)

Advance Payment: Each church should place a book order 3 weeks in advance if at all possible. Those who sign up at the last minute may do so and pay for their books upon the team’s
arrival.

Final Payment: The final payment need not be submitted until the conclusion of the week.
The check can be given to the team evangelist along with the love offering. However, it is
highly recommended that the church collect the Materials Fee from each participant well in advance. This will go a long way in securing personal commitment.
Personal Study
In order to make the Netcasters training week as efficient as possible, there will be some advance
study requirements for every student. This will provide a foundation on which the team will build
after their arrival.

Mandatory Nets: The Mandatory Nets (memory verses) are in the Netcasters workbook. This
sheet will be e-mailed to the church for distribution no later than one month in advance.

MP3 Sermons: Students will need to listen to several sermons in advance. This will be communicated in the above mentioned e-mail. The students will be able to listen to the sermons by
CD or by downloading them from www.johnvangelderen.com.

Option A: Students must be able to pass the Mandatory Nets verses test and be able to give the
Netcasters Gospel presentation with the use of the viewbook.

Option B: Students must be able to pass the Mandatory Nets verses test, give the Netcasters
Gospel presentation with only a New Testament, and write the plan out from memory.

Team
Meet the Team

Evangelist Jonathan Barber, Rebecca & Samuel: Brother Barber graduated from Baptist College of Ministry in 2005 with a B.A. in Bible, and
again in 2008 with an M.A. in Bible. During his college years he traveled
with Evangelist Jim Van Gelderen and the War of Special Forces. After
Jonathan married his wife, Rebecca, they traveled with the Van Gelderens
for a year gaining valuable experience in both youth evangelism and local
church revival meetings.
In 2008, Brother Barber launched into evangelism fulltime. God has greatly blessed in the intervening time, allowing them to see hundreds saved
and to assist in the planting of a church. In 2010, the Lord began to put a
burden on Brother Barber’s heart to help pastors train their people to win
souls. He did not want to simply preach about it. He wanted to lead a team that would show
laymen and women that soulwinning can be done. In September of 2010, God put a longterm
burden of Evangelist John R. Van Gelderen together with Brother Barber’s burden. To the glory of God, the vision that God put on their hearts is now coming to pass. The Barbers are praying that God will lead them not only to win many souls to Christ themselves, but to leave
trained soulwinners behind in every local church.

Trainers: Every team member has been trained in the
Netcasters Evangelism Training course, and has had the privilege of training others. The Netcasters Team is typically made
up of Bible college graduates or upper classmen (2 young men
and 2 young ladies). These students have evidenced God’s
hand on their lives, and are eager to demonstrate faith in the
matter of leading your people into the harvest fields of your
community.
Housing

RV Accommodations:
 The Barbers stay in their 40-foot fifth-wheel trailer. If you do not have adequate space
for this size trailer, please communicate that as soon as possible.
2

RV Hookup -- Because RV’s have normal household appliances, ample electricity is
essential. A normal outside outlet is usually only 20 amps and 110 volts. Most new trailers need 50 amps and 220 volts. Some trailers have the capability to access two different
20 or 30 amp circuits if the outlets are within 50 feet. Every evangelist who has an RV
will greatly appreciate your help in this area. Some churches install an electrical box
that includes 50, 30, and 20 amp plugs each with breakers. The plugs need to be installed so that the electrical cords hang down.

The 50 amp RV plug looks like the following diagram:

Housing for two young men:
 The two men can stay together. This is preferable to having them stay separately. To
avoid awkward situations, we would ask that they not stay with folks who have teenage/
college-age young ladies.

Housing for two young ladies:
 The two young ladies can stay together as well. This is preferable to having them stay
separately. To avoid awkward situations, we would ask that they not stay with folks
who have teenage/college-age young men.
Meals

The team would ask that the main meal of the day be the lunch meal. This could be at the church, at
a home, or out to eat. It would be best to have the dinner meal at church. That would help to facilitate the evening ministry. This can be a lighter meal—even leftovers from lunch.

In order to have some family time, the Barbers will eat their evening meals (Thursday, Friday, Saturday, & Monday) in their trailer.

Transportation

The Barbers have a truck which they use to pull their trailer.

The team has a van that they can use to get back and forth to church.

The team will plan on not using the van or truck for any soulwinning trips. It
would work much better to link them up with others.

some will take off of work anyway, this slot is available. We would ask that you have a signup sheet out for the Optional Netcasting Time on Thursday, Friday, & Monday.

first season of corporate prayer.

1:00 — Prayer.

Tuesday

Travel Day/Rest Day.

Departure Time TBA.
Optional
In the event that a pastor feels that his people need more preaching to prepare them for the evangelistic emphasis, Evangelist Barber is willing to come with the team one week in advance for a
weeklong Revival Meeting. This would mean that the team would arrive on a Wednesday, have
services through Tuesday, and then begin the Netcasters Evangelism Training course the next
Wednesday. This is definitely something to prayerfully consider.

Children’s Meetings
Junior Netcasters Club

The Junior Netcasters Club is for children ages 4-12. (Age range
can be changed at your discretion).

Mrs. Barber and two team members will run a Netcasters program
for children based off of our children’s version of the Netcasters
viewbook. The viewbook is easy to use. It incorporates the Wordless Book, several Bible verses, and some helpful illustrations.
Many children have already used this tool to lead other children to
Christ.

The Junior Netcasters Club is a great way to get the whole family
out for the Netcasters Evangelism Training course.

The Junior Netcasters
Club will include:
 Songs
 Preaching
 Junior Netcasters
Viewbook training/
demonstrations
 Puppets
 Missionary Story
 Game Time
Nursery
One of our young ladies can help with nursery if that will help free up the church folks to be involved in the training. Between the evangelist’s wife and the two young ladies, they should be able
to develop a working rotation to assist your nursery workers if needed.

Finances
Evangelist

The Barbers take no salary. They minister in evangelism on a love offering basis.

This check can be made out to “Revival Focus Ministries.” In the memo line mark it for
“Evangelist Jonathan Barber.” It can be given to him at the end of the week.
Team Expenses
The team desires to minister by faith in every way, including finances.
We do not want finances to be the deciding factor in whether or not the
team will come to your church to minister. Please communicate with the
team evangelist if this is a concern so that different options can be discussed.
All of the team’s expenses, including team member/trainers’ salaries, gas,
equipment, etc., are not included in the Materials Fee (see below) or the
love offering for the evangelist. The expenses fall in a range between
$400 and $800. However the Lord leads you in this regard would be
greatly appreciated. Expenses can be given in a separate check, or combined with the evangelist’s love offering in one check. If one check is
given, please be sure to clearly designate the amount for the team, and
the amount for the evangelist.
Materials Fee

Payment:
 A Materials Fee of $30 per person should be collected well in
advance of the team’s arrival. This will encourage commitment, and it will free the people from undue financial strain by
not asking for a love offering and a fee at the same time.

All registration fees should be paid to the local church initially.
The church can then write one check made out to, “Revival Focus Ministries.” In the memo line please reference the invoice
number. If funds are an issue, participants can share books to
encourage involvement.

This check can also be given to the evangelist at the end of
the week.
8
NOTE:
Our desire is to
make this training as affordable as possible. If a pastor
would like to “go halves”
with his people to encourage
them to sign up, that would
be wonderful (this could be
put into the church budget).
We would just ask that every person pay something to
encourage personal commitment.
NOTE: IN ORDER TO
MAKE THE WEEK OF
NETCASTERS TRAINING EFFECTIVE AND
WORTHWHILE, WE DO
ASK THAT THERE BE A
MINIMUM OF 15 PARTICIPANTS. We realize
that some small churches
may be unable to come up
with 15 people. We are
committed to helping
churches of any size. In the
event that you fall short of
the participant requirement,
please contact Evangelist
Barber to discuss options.
One very effective option
would be to team up with
a neighboring church or
two for the week.
Materials



[Each participant is expected to have his own copy of both the workbook and the viewbook.]
Revival Focus Ministries
Revival Focus Ministries is an extension of our work in evangelism. It is a non-profit organization
(from which neither Evangelist Barber nor Evangelist Van Gelderen take a salary). If it is all right
with you, we will make available some of the RFM items (tapes, CDs, pamphlets, books, etc.) beginning on Wednesday night. A table is all that is needed (an 8-foot table is preferable). On
Wednesday through Monday it would be helpful if Brother Barber could make an announcement
about the Revival Focus Ministries table during the service.

After the Team Leaves...
Regular Netcasting Times

It is essential that the church begin a regular, weekly Netcasting time if there is not one in place
already. Saturday morning is a good option. Run the Netcasting time just like it was run during
the week.
 Start with a challenge from God’s Word.
 Have a time of corporate prayer.
 Go out in faith into the harvest field.
 Come back with testimonies of what God has done.

It is also essential that you have a good system of contact management on your church computer. This is a necessity! Ask the evangelist for suggestions of good, efficient, economical software to accomplish this purpose.
Regular Netcasting Partners

The goal of the team is to leave behind sets of partners that will continue to regularly go out
together. By Monday night, these teams will have been set.

These partners should:




Form teams of two men or two women. Doubtless, many couples will want to go out
together. They may do that as well, but it is preferable that they also have a weekly
partner who is not their spouse. More will be said in this regard during the week.
Hold each other accountable weekly. This creates remarkable faithfulness.
Pray together weekly.
Not attempt to disciple a new convert together. That is not the best use of their Netcasting time. Discipleship can be a good opportunity for married couples to do together at
another time.
Regular Soulwinning Assistance

Soulwinners can be discouraged easily. Satan is always attacking them. Seek to encourage
them often through the following:





Conferences
Revival Meetings
Soulwinning Refresher Courses
Evangelistic Meetings
Make sure that the flame that God ignites in the hearts of the soulwinner is fanned and fed!
Satan is after our soulwinners. Let’s keep them encouraged!
