We’re delighted to announce our launch and inaugural movie fundraiser in May
where a very exciting Noah’s Bark project will be revealed.
Come along to meet the people behind Noah’s Bark and have a fun afternoon
supporting a great cause!!

Noah's Bark Dog Rescue’s primary focus is to rescue,
rehabilitate, and rehome unwanted and abandoned
companion canines. We are not a pound; our dogs are
kept in loving foster homes. With nearly 40 years of
animal welfare experience between us we aim to find

$10 per Month for 100 Supporters
We Need YOUR Support!!!
At Noah’s Bark we are on a mission to have 100 of our wonderful supporters sign up to
donate $10 a month.
$1,000 a month would allow us to welcome more dogs and also more dogs with higher
medical needs into our family.
Over the course of a year you will have paid for a dog to have their general dental work
done, 1 dog desexed, 2 dogs vaccinated, 8 dogs microchipped or made a significant
contribution to one of our dogs with higher medical needs.
Your support is valuable for groups like Noah’s Bark to continue rehoming our four-legged
friends and at the end of each financial year we’ll send you an annual certificate of
appreciation.

Meet Kirby
Introducing Esme
A bright and energetic 4 year old small Jack
Russell Terrier, Kirby hasn’t had much time spent
on him, but what he lacks in skill, he makes up
with in enthusiasm!
A 3 year old small Lhasa Apso x Shih Tzu,
Esme's greatest joy in life will be keeping
you company.
He loves to learn and looks to his humans for
direction. He is also good with other dogs and
cats.
She is good with cats and most dogs and is
learning how good other dogs can be! Her
new owner will need to be strict with her
discipline as she can be quite wilful.

Chocolate Easter Eggs and Dogs
Chocolate made from cocoa and cocoa beans
contains a nasty little chemical called
Theobromine which can be highly toxic and
dangerous for dogs. Small amounts can lead to
vomiting and diarrhoea, whilst a toxic amount can
lead to tremors, high blood pressure,
hyperactivity, seizures and potentially cardiac
arrest.
If your dog ingests chocolate, be sure to contact
your veterinarian immediately.
Paralysis Ticks
How to brush your dog’s teeth
Commonly found on the east coast of
Australia, stretching from Lakes Entrance
in Victoria through to Cape York in
Queensland, paralysis ticks prefer bush
land and scrubby areas but can be found in
green, grassy areas too.
Here are five steps to brushing your pet's teeth!
Signs that your dogs may be suffering from
tick paralysis include:
 Weakness or paralysis in the back
legs, progressing to the front legs
 Wobbling and lack of coordination
 Coughing, gagging or a grunt on
breathing
 Change in tone of bark
 Difficulty swallowing
 Regurgitating or vomiting
 Drooling
 Inability to stand
 Facial paralysis
If you find a tick or see signs contact or
take your dog to a veterinarian
immediately.
1. Start by handling your pet’s mouth and
rubbing his or her gums gently and briefly, first
with your finger, then a gauze square or a soft
cloth. When your pet is relaxed and enjoying
the attention, introduce the veterinary
supplied toothpaste letting him or her lick a
small amount from your finger.
2. After a few days of practice, introduce the
toothbrush. Apply a bit of toothpaste and let
your pet smell and lick it. Give some treats
and introduce the toothbrush with treats to
your pet ten times.
3. For upper teeth, gently place your free hand
over your pet’s muzzle and lift the lip with
your thumb or fingers. Place the toothbrush
against the teeth and begin brushing the teeth
and gum line. Be gentle, and give your pet lots
of praise.
4. For the lower teeth, use your free hand to
gently pull down the lower lip.
5. Ideally, your pet’s teeth should be brushed
every day, however if you can only manage
once a week, your pet will still benefit.
Make sure you praise often and provide treats, to
make the experience as pleasant as possible.
