OUR SERVICES | Destinations 4 OUR SERVICES Capital Metro offers a wide range of services to its riders — whether they’re commuting to work or school, going out for a night on the town or just enjoying the relaxation of not being behind the wheel in Austin’s traffic. 20 | Destinations | Effective August 21, 2016 – January 7, 2017 | capmetro.org | GO Line 512-474-1200 Destinations | OUR SERVICES LOCAL MetroBus Capital Metro buses provide a clean, inexpensive and reliable way to get around Central Texas. Commute to work, meet up with friends or simply explore the city with routes serving local neighborhoods, universities, downtown and other popular destinations. MetroBus includes Routes 1–99, 200–490 and UT Shuttles. Swipe to Ride New Blue UT Shuttle Buses! UT Riders, board from the front entrance and swipe UT ID to ride. UT Shuttles E-Bus Night Owls Conveniently travel to and from the University of Texas. Students, faculty and staff ride free with their UT ID. For schedules, see pages 154–157 Three E-Bus (Entertainment Bus) routes operate each fall and spring, when more UT students are on campus. Ride E-Buses between popular student housing neighborhoods and downtown between midnight and 3 a.m. Thursday–Saturday nights. For schedules, see pages 136–138 Night Owl buses operate from midnight until 3 a.m. Monday–Saturday nights, traveling between popular late-night destinations on 6th Street and local neighborhoods every 20 to 30 minutes. The mix of new vehicles, stations and technologies deliver a more convenient, productive and flexible ride on two routes serving the best of Austin. For schedules, see pages 158–159 • Route 801 connects Tech Ridge to Southpark Meadows via UT and downtown. • Route 803 connects The Domain to Westgate via UT and downtown. MetroRapid Features • Priority Service: MetroRapid helps you make the most out of your time. • Special technology on vehicles allows them to catch more green lights to stay on schedule. Within downtown, transit-priority lanes are available to get you to your destination faster. • Free Wi-Fi • Multiple-Door Boarding • Real-Time Arrival* • Digital signage at every MetroRapid station shows you the exact wait time until your ride arrives. You can also access this information from capmetro.org, the CapMetro mobile app and the GO Line at 512-474-1200. * Real-time information refreshes within 90 seconds. With buses leaving every 30 minutes, riders have direct access to the Capitol, business and entertainment districts, restaurants, museums, the University of Texas and popular area hotels. MetroAirport is a great option for locals and visitors alike. For schedules, see pages 77–79 Flyer & Limited Routes Routes 100–171 offer fast, convenient service to and from some neighborhoods and popular downtown destinations. Relax and enjoy the ride. Why fight traffic on your commute to and from work when you can use the time for something you’d rather be doing instead? Board a MetroRail train and watch the scenery, read, catch up with a friend or surf the web with free onboard Wi-Fi. MetroRail’s 32-mile route is designed to take you to and from your destination in central, north, northwest, or east Austin and Leander. Whether you are commuting to work downtown, headed to UT or moving between any of the nine stations on the line, MetroRail is the comfortable, reliable way to get where you’re going. For schedules, see pages 152–153 Beginning October 2016, MetroRail Ticket Vending Machines will no longer accept debit and credit cards Catch a Rail Connector bus Night Rail service Most MetroRail stations are served by bus routes that can take you to your final destination, so you can ride the train and then seamlessly catch a quick bus ride to major employers, shopping and education destinations. MetroRail trains run until midnight on Friday and Saturday nights. Enjoy Austin’s happening downtown core or destinations at any of the stops along the line. On Saturdays, trains begin service at 4 p.m. The last train leaves Downtown Station at midnight both Friday and Saturday nights. Regular fares apply.
