Cabinetmaker’s Cherry Collection — a group that revisits the woodsmith
techniques of early cabinetmakers, shows exposed mortise and tenon
joinery, as well as live-edge characteristics and allows Harden’s finishers
the opportunity to create exceptional color and clarity.
This Adirondack- and Western-influenced solid cherry
collection offers an attractive option for today’s casual and blended

WELCOME TO LIVE-EDGE…
Each tree in this universe is unique — no two alike.
That concept was the inspiration for the Live-Edge Custom Table
Program.
We want to give you the ability to create your own natural one-of-a-kind
table…whatever fits your equally individual lifestyle.
Choose from an array of options to customize your table, while at the
same time giving new meaning to "back to nature"…
LIVE-EDGE CONSTRUCTION
Harden’s solid wood live-edge tables are constructed using native
hardwood species — you may choose from Adirondack black cherry,
black walnut, curly maple or wormy maple. Each has their own unique
characteristics, underlying colortones and textures.
Logs are specially selected and are custom-milled on-site at the Harden
sawmill. Flitches are sorted for size, color and character to provide the
optimal combination for every top.
We use only top quality logs in the construction of our live-edge tables.
Tops are reinforced by steel channel irons that are attached underneath
the top. All tops of this thickness and natural origin are prone to small
checks and season splits, particularly at the ends. Knots will be evident
and are considered part of the natural characteristic of the wood.

Edge Finishes
Harden offers two options for edge finishing—
• contrast edge or
-500 Square Edge
• no contrast edge
Contrast Edge preserves the natural color contrast of the sapwood edge band —the specified color is applied only to the interior of the table.
No Contrast Edge produces a uniform color top with no edge contrast.

TOP OPTIONS
STANDARD — 80" wide x 44" deep x 30" high is standard for all Cabinetmaker’s Cherry Custom Tables, including the Live-Edge Program.
CUSTOM SIZES — Custom sizes are available by the inch, up to a maximum size of 120" wide x 50" deep.
If a custom size top is selected, the base size will be adjusted accordingly.
Note: Oval Shaped Tops are available in the Custom Size Program — Square Edge is required.

OTHER OPTIONS
Wood Bow Tie Inlays
Prior to the development of modern adhesives,
cabinetmakers often applied bow tie cleats to
strengthen glue joints or to secure season splits. If
you choose to have them installed, we suggest a
bow tie inlay in a contrasting species (i.e. maple on
walnut, or walnut on cherry). Please specify number
of requested inlays.

Since 1844, Harden Furniture has

long-term forestry, Harden is able to
maintain a healthy reserve of raw materials
while supporting recreation, habitat and
wildlife diversity. Harden is certified to the
Sustainable Forestry Initiative® (SFI) forest
certification standard and received Silver
Exemplary Status from the Sustainable
Furnishings Council (SFC).

In addition to forestry preservation,
Harden has been active in other
environmentally sensitive areas. The use
of ozone depleting chlorofluorocarbons
(CFCs) in the manufacturing of upholstery
foams is one of the key issues currently
challenging the furniture industry. Despite
the added expense, Harden responds to
this concern by using only foams produced
with “ozone‑friendly” materials.
At Harden, the environment is not a
new issue. It’s been part of our thinking for
generations, and is part of the legacy that
we leave future generations.
