Dana Buoy’s (best known for his near decade of work as the
drummer of Akron/Family) debut album, Summer Bodies,
is a rhythmic and vibrant dedication to the joyous feelings
of summer love.
A dream pop record combining elements of Afro beats,
synth pop, and what Buoy refers to as “Tropicore”. The
songs connect the dots between Paul Simon and Drake,
providing a sonic spaceship ride from the beach party to the
after party.

J Mascis rounds up a couple partners-in-crime from his adolescence with an eye – and ear
– towards shredding harder, wailing louder, and generally melting faces even more brutally
than ever before. Stoner dirtbags cloaked in mystery, j’s longtime buddies Pete Cougar and
Johnny Pancake lay down the heavy rhythm base for j’s massive licks and blistering guitar
mastery. Ever wondered what Band of Gypsies would sound like if you mixed it up with
Japanese hard psych and smoked it through a giant power bong? Well, now you know.
Don’t say we didn’t warn you.

o the casual on-looker, PS I Love You’s quick rise to the summit of the
intensely competitive Canadian music landscape is the thing dreams are
made of. Heck – just over one year ago the band released their highly
praised homage to their hometown Kingston, Ontario. Meet Me At The
Muster Station was embraced by critics across the globe garnering consistently
dazzling reviews. As a result PS I Love You’s Benjamin Nelson and Paul
Saulnier began to tour Muster Station around the planet.
T
While on the road Paul Saulnier began to have reoccurring dreams centered
around, as dark as it may sound, his mortality. Triggered by life on the road – these
images, created by Saulnier’s subconscious have, shaped the direction of the band’s
brilliant new LP Death Dreams.
Death Dreams was recorded with Muster Station producer Matt Rogalsky on
his portable studio in the band’s tiny rehearsal space. No big budget studios for
these lads. The album’s photography and design of the album’s artwork was created
and executed by Benjamin Nelson.
PRESS QUOTES:
“PS I Love You are such a wonderful mess of contradictions. The odd-couple duo of Paul
Saulnier (guitar/vocals) and Benjamin Nelson (drums) couch their considerable technical
skill in a grungy garage-rock dressing, conveying palpably heartfelt emotion through
mostly indecipherable yelping.” - Pitchfork

There are very few bands in the known universe that can draw
upon such varied influences as The Stooges, Hawkwind and Can,
but Brooklyn trio NAAM certainly fits the bill. With their new EP
The Ballad Of The Starchild, NAAM creates spacey, spacious,
garage-bluesy kraut-psych with an epic scope and altered state
intergalactic musings about time, space and the future. A
vintage-sounding offering that manages to include elements of
trance rock, acid-blues and psychedelic star-gazing, The Ballad
Of The Starchild is the perfect accompaniment for “exploring
inner space and imagining outer space.” Over the course of the
EP’s 25 minutes of brain damage, NAAM aim to hold infinity in
the palm of their hand, and eternity in a half hour. The sonic
equivalent of a sheet of blotter LSD layered over hypnotically
rhythmic bass lines, The Ballad Of The Starchild is a far-out
journey where riffs fall from the sky and float off to planets yet
undiscovered by science!
"Brooklyn kraut-metal crushers NAAM take the trippiest part of
your favorite Hawkwind song and stretch it like space taffy into
hypnotic, riff-driven mush." – THE VILLAGE VOICE
• New EP from Brooklyn’s best psychedelic band!
• NAAM’s previous release (2009’s self titled CD/LP) has
been called “hypnotic” by The Village Voice, “excellent” by
Stereogum and “psychedelic” by CMJ. This is some “heavy
shit” folks!

Örebro, Sweden “desert rock kings” TRUCKFIGHTERS create
incredibly bad ass, electric hard rock which has been called
“ear-bleedingly good.” The highly respected trio - recently
called "the best band that's ever existed" by QUEENS OF THE
STONE AGE frontman Josh Homme - will see the North

12 thru 20: Full length instrumentals for the first nine tracks
This triple LP set is now available in a
clear, red and white colored pressing.
Jay Dee, aka J Dilla, emerged as a Hip Hop producer to be reckoned with in 1995 when his name was attached
to the first single from The Pharcyde’s eagerly anticipated sophomore album “Labcabincalifornia”. Drop the
needle on his first Pharcyde production “Runnin” and you have the launch point of a producer’s career that
mesmerized, titillated and expanded the domes of Hip Hop fans for the next decade. “Jay Deelicious: Originals,
Remixes & Rarities” documents Jay Dilla’s early production on Delicious Vinyl. Working closely with The Pharcyde
and Michael “Mike Floss” Ross, (Delicious Vinyl’s founder), Jay Dee was instrumental in keeping The Pharcyde’s
second album as ear poppin’ and bugged as their maiden classic “Bizarre Ride To The Pharcyde”, stepping up
big time after the group parted ways with “Bizarre” producer J-Swift. In addition to original productions and
remixes for “Labcabin”, Jay Dee skillfully worked with the label on incredible mixes for the Brand New Heavies, as
well as unreleased remixes for former BNH singer, N’Dea Davenport. From the jazzed out Rhodes syncopation of
“Sometimes” featuring Q-Tip, to the crazy cutting up of “Got To Give It Up” for “Saturday Night” featuring Mos
Def, Jay Dee shows there’s no tempo he can’t freak on some otherworldly jazzed up funk tip. So put on your
head phones and take a trip into the early work of a Hip Hop master. Umm Umm JayDEElicous! In respect to
Dilla’s legacy, all proceeds from the sale of this release will go to Maureen (Ma Dukes) Yancy.

Once upon no time, countless light-years from Earth, the cosmos revealed the moment had come to take
action. Sonnymoon, a mystical, nurturing, peaceful planet, found itself on a collision course with Earth, whose
inhabitants had a dubious history of preaching peace yet living lives of war. History had once before shown
that when worlds collide, the trauma of such a collision is forceful enough to cause a massive rip in the
time/space continuum, throwing all things as we know it into uncharted territory. One effect of this rip is the
potential for chaos, mayhem, and complete destruction. But, as fate would have it, Sonnymoon had written it
quite differently.
As known on Sonnymoon, the people of Earth are able to vibrationally align with Sonnymoon through gradual
contact. That which no longer serves the people will fall away, creating the Golden Age of being. This
communion of vibrational frequency results in a vastly expanded collective consciousness. It is most easily
achieved through the creation and sharing of music.
So as all planets do, Sonnymoon created the perfect beings to self-fulfill the prophecy. From the deepest
depths of the sea they called forth an energy entity to be called Anna, comprised of feminine aspects: wisdom,
water, land, emotion, passion, moonlight. From the core of the sun they called forth a polar energy to be
named Dane, comprised of the masculine: intelligence, fire, wind, cognition, sunlight. Together they formed
the perfect celestial balance of non-duality --embodying Sonnymoon itself.
Anna and Dane soon set forth as journeymen, ambassadors of their world, and were given but one mission –
find allies and prepare Earth for the energies of the coming planet, thereby averting catastrophe.
Upon first landing on Earth, they noticed the void was vast and deep. This would be no simple task. Dane
quickly found that the music Earth most often communicated via airwaves was not indicative of the wants (or
needs) of the people. Meanwhile, Anna was challenged to make sense of foreign concepts such as ignorance,
mediocrity, and perhaps worst of all, suburbia. But they pressed on, creating music that undoubtedly expanded
the minds of all that that were ready. And in due time, Sonnymoon found a powerful ally with the team at
Plug Research.
Sonnymoon is part of the fertile ground by which the new and innovative springs forth. They are an army of
the audible, a musical militia manned by two. There is no time to prepare sufficiently for their coming-- they
have already arrived and the mass-scale invasion is imminent. For those receptive to their transmission –
prepare for your world to change.
But fear not, Earthlings, they come in peace.
Key Selling Points:
• Great press from their previous releases including fans at Pitchfork, LA Times, Life+Times, Okayplayer, URB &

OVERVIEW
As a member of the iconic trio Soulive, NEAL. has recorded albums for legendary labels Blue Note and Stax,
shared the studio with Chaka Khan, Talib Kweli and John Scofield. He’s toured the world from end to end,
playing shows in Japan, Brazil, Ghana and Russia, opened for The Rolling Stones and has been joined on stage
by Stevie Wonder. Alongside bandmates Eric Krasno and brother Alan, NEAL. has even had a day named for
him, as the mayor of Buffalo, New York officially proclaimed July 9th Soulive Day.
Most recently, however, NEAL.’s career has begun its newest, and possibly its most exciting chapter to date.
Leaving behind the collaborative essence of Soulive, NEAL. retreated into the recording studio…alone. The
result is BANG!, an album that refuses to forego the breakbeat backbone of NEAL.’s past projects, but still
ventures beyond anything he’s ever done before
Artist: NEAL. (Neal Evans of Soulive)
Title: BANG
“There’s great freedom in a solo record. But with BANG! it’s more than having the ability to dictate the sound;
It’s about the ability to focus on the structure, the exactness of the sound I’m trying to communicate.” NEAL.
continues: “I always want to prove something with music, whether I’m playing live or creating in a studio.
There’s a vulnerability that comes with a solo project, being so exposed, and that’s an important part of this
project. It’s definitely an emotion that exists within the music.”
Label: Royal Family Records
Order Due Date: April 24. 2012

Whether this latest chapter of NEAL.’s marks a new beginning or simply a parallel storyline, the fact remains
that his story is one worth following. And if you’re new to NEAL., well, maybe it’s best that you start with a

2012 was a crazy year... and album, that’s how hip-hop heads worldwide will remember it. Following in the footsteps of great DJ/Producer
and MC duos like Eric B. & Rakim and GangStarr, Statik Selektah & Termanology once again combine to form the powerhouse group
1982. The formula is perfected and flawless as Statik crafts the perfect sonic landscapes for Term’s more mature and sophisticated delivery
- see the uplifting first single “Shining.”
Holding Term down on the microphone side of things are great guest spots from some of the hottest new talent in the game; Mac Miller,
Roc Marciano and Freddie Gibbs blend nicely with iconoclasts Bun B., Havoc of Mobb Deep and Lil Fame of M.O.P and Shawn Stockman
from Boyz 2 Men. 2012 has already garnered high praise as this month’s Source Magazine has given the full length it’s coveted
“Independent’s Day” column and XXL has a great review ready for it’s May 22nd issue. The duo will also hit the road in both the states and
abroad, April - July for full tour support of the album. 2012 will indeed be the year of 1982.
Termanology began making a name for himself with several highly acclaimed 12" singles. His big break came when DJ Premier blessed him
with one of his signature, scratch-laden beats. "Watch How It Go Down" instantly became an underground classic and with it Termanology
thrust himself onto hip-hop's international radar. The conscious hood anthem garnered the earnest MC tons of praise, landing him in The
Source's "Unsigned Hype" and XXL's "Show and Prove" columns. Term has recorded with hip-hop heavyweights such as Freeway, Sheek
Louch, The Alchemist, Pete Rock, Buckwild, Easy Mo Bee & Large Professor. Currently he is readying Fizzyology, his collaboration effort
with M.O.P.’s Fizzy Womak (aka Lil Fame).
Establishing his own spot amongst the ranks of East Coast hip-hop's seminal figures, DJ/producer Statik Selektah utilized his turntabling
skills and ingenuity in PR and promotions to break some of the region's most promising artists, bearing his own influence on the national
mixtape circuit. He has worked with Talib Kweli, Styles P, Consequence, Freeway, and Jadakiss (among many others); and most
importantly, the DJ became a major-player on the mixtape circuit as his releases with Nas, Q-Tip, John Legend, and Saigon received major
accolades and write-up’s. Statik dropped his first LP, Spell My Name Right in 2007, Stick 2 the Script in 2008, 100 Proof: The Hangover in
2010 and Population Control in 2011. Last year also saw him teaming up for projects with Action Bronson and Freddie Gibbs as well as a
full length masterpiece Straight, No Chaser with REKS earlier this year.

Hero vs. Villain (Epilogue)
This special edition 2xLP package comes housed in an all new exclusive jacket featuring DOOM’s
infamous metal mask icon ebbossed out of a metallic silver foil.
Each record is pressed on special “Gun Metal” colored vinyl.
An absolute must have for the DOOM completist.
The long awaited reissue of DOOM's first solo gem, Operation: Doomsday. Remastered from the original Fondle 'Em 1999 issue.
Side A is listed as "Side Zero". Side B is "Side One". And so forth.
Underneath his mysterious metal mask, MF DOOM hides the cachet underground legends are made of. After KMD (his first group)’s
1994 sophomore album Bl_ck B_st_rds was shelved by Elektra in 1994 and his blood brother Subroc (one half of the sibling rap duo)
passed away, surviving frontman Zev Love X mutated into the MC Avenger known as MF DOOM and the Rap world is better for it. This
19-cut deep album is ridiculously dope, in a bizarro Ol’ Dirty Bastard kind of way. Doom sounds either high or drunk on most of the
tracks, his self-produced beats are gritty, and his rhyme styles are almost indecipherable. On arguably the best track, “Rhymes Like
Dimes,” Doom weaves some pointed lyrics through his abstract wordplay, spitting ‘only in America could you find a way to earn a
healthy buck / And still keep your attitude on self-destruct.’
Who You Think I Am? features DOOM‘s crew M.onster I.sland C.zars, while on “?” he trades hot verses with former Columbia artist
Kurious Jorge. Doom’s avant-garde ghetto-rhyme philosophies take even more intentionally weird twists on “Tick, Tick...” where he
and guest MC MF Grimm’s flows warble over a rhythm track whose tempo speeds up and slows down continually. The comic-book
themed skits, will help take you deep into the mind of an MC who is as otherworldly as they come. And in today’s bland commercial Rap
universe, Operation Doomsday’s left-of-center beats and rhymes are the perfect remedy.

If you think the title of this DVD sounds like a struggling foreigner’s attempt to describe his trip to New York City during the
formative years of a cultural revolution, you would be pretty much spot on in your assessment. Filmed in New York City in
1986, ‘Big Fun in the Big Town’ chronicles the emerging cultural movement called “hip-hop”, through the lens of an upstart
Dutch filmmaker named Bram Van Splunteren.
Armed with nothing more than a camera crew and vague understanding of the English language, Van Splunteren’s fearless
excursion into the world of American hip hop led him to the gritty landscapes of Harlem, South Bronx, and the Lower East
Side during the peak years of the 1980s crack epidemic. As many would come to learn, this backdrop proved to be the
incubator to what became a breeding ground for hip hop pioneers. Van Splunteren happened to be in the right place at the
right time.
Putting his own personal safety at risk, Van Splunteren’s travelled to remote locations in neighborhoods where no foreigners
or outsiders were normally allowed. There he managed to capture the essence of that time and place, while also managing
to attain interviews and footage with rap heavyweights and emerging artists many now refer to as legends.
The amazing scenes contained herein will blow the minds of any self respecting fan of rap music; a 17 year old LL Cool J
greeting Van Splunteren from the door step of his grandmother’s apartment (where he still lived), the Mystery Crew out of
Chicago who happened to be trying to snag a meeting with Russell Simmons outside the small first offices of Def Jam on
the same day Van Splunteren happened to be interviewing him, DMC freestyling to and unreleased beat on the cassette
deck of his brand new and first Cadillac, a still skinny Biz Markie beatboxing for Roxanne Shante on stage – Van Splunteren
managed to capture so many incredible moments in hip hop history and really encapsulated the era perfectly.
Amazingly, the film that captured the New York rap scene during its most vital moments never received a proper debut in
the city until almost 25 years after it premiered. That changed in 2002 when Dutch magazine Vara Gids named Big Fun as
one of the top ten hip-hop films of all-time. The film was shown at the Maysles Film Institute in Harlem in 2010 with Van
Splunteren in attendance along with a handful of hip hop luminaries. And now, Five Day Weekend has secured the rights to
issue this documentary for the first time ever to American audiences in a physical format. Big Fun In The Big Town is a must
own documentary for any true rap historian, and a window into a time and place many of us can now only learn about
through study. Travel back to where it all began and relive the inspiring struggle of hip hop music all over again.

All Of Us, Together is the first proper full-length from Vancouver’s Teen Daze. Arriving after a prolific stretch of EPs,
singles, and remixes since 2010, and recorded in the hopeful
turn from spring to summer 2011, it’s something of a culmination. “I’m very proud of this as my first real LP, and the
statement it makes. It fully represents where I’ve come to as
an electronic artist.”

The Dreamer is Miller’s sixth solo record and represents the first time he has ever selfproduced. In the past, Miller’s solo efforts were dramatically different from his work with
the Old 97’s. While the band’s songs are often steeped in Americana and country, the solo
records have always been decidedly more rock and pop affairs. That is until now, as The
Dreamer finds the Texas-bred, New York-based singer/songwriter marrying his two worlds
like never before.
Says Milller, “I produced The Dreamer myself, a first for me, and had a very clear vision of
what it should be -- an intimate, rootsy record that would bridge the gap between my work
with the Old 97’s and the solo albums I’ve made in the past. The Dreamer is all about simple
American songs and instrumentation. It was a blast to make.”

Bigg Jus
Machines That Make Civilization Fun
On Machines That Make Civilizations Fun, Bigg Jus assaults the growing
ugliness and inequality of society with a fury and intelligence that are
unparalleled in these bleak times of perpetual war and economic fatigue.
It makes sense, perhaps, that those coming of age in the diminished hope
of the years post-9/11 have gravitated towards the escapist choices of the
new generation: beachy chillwave and materialistic rap. Bigg Jus has a
longer memory, though. His first project, Company Flow, stood at the top of
underground hip-hop during an era when it was actually about something, and
he’s still haunted by the events that leveled his home town a decade ago. He
doesn’t see the point in rapping about greed or girls, and Machines That Make
Civilizations is for those who have been paying attention during the decline
and who are hungry for music that aggressively addresses the problems that
are right in front of our faces. As cities across America and the world begin
to awaken, Bigg Jus offers a soundtrack that speaks truth to power with a
profundity that is worthy of the moment.
Bigg Jus, no need for introduction. For those who have followed the growth
of independent hip-hop for the last decade-plus, the name is legendary. As a
founding member of Company Flow, Big Jus’ flow and swagger redefined the
image of the MC, influencing an entire generation of rhymers across the United
States and by extension, the world over. He has performed around the globe,
leaving nothing but ripped stages and sparked consciousness in his wake. His
post-Company Flow work has seen no dulling of his creative fervor. Whether it
be his solo Big Justoleum work, or his partnership with Orko Elohim as NMS, the
shadow of Jus’ influence only broadens.

Anthony Valadez grew up in the bustling cultural hub of the San Fernando Valley, right outside of Los Angeles. Okay, maybe
it wasn’t the most creative space for a young Latino to come of age, but the tenacious pre-teen had an insatiable curiousity
since then and took it upon himself to find his calling. By junior high, young Anthony was tuning into KCRW where he was
particularly drawn to a show where Michael Mixxin Moor was combining political speeches by the like of Malcolm X with
acid jazz instrumentals. Not long after this period, Anthony was able to procure some turntables and spent his spare time
catching the bus from the SF Valley into the heart of Hollywood, searching for new musical worlds to get lost to in shops like
Beat Nonstop and Street Sounds on Melrose. This is also when visual arts began to really pique his interest. He’d often
purchase records based on their cover art alone, sometimes being disappointed when he’d put the needle to its grooves then
other times being blasted into yet another musical dimension. DJing developed as a natural extension of this constant curiosity,
never as a career plan. Still, through ardent dedication, by the time Anthony was still in high school he was ditching 6th
period, going over to the local community college radio station to drop a set.
Even though most anyone else would have dropped school as an interest and focused on music as a path given his
circumstances and opportunities, Anthony still saw his future in community work. “I thought I was going to be working with
the community in the arts, that was my goal,” explains an older Anthony from the porch of his breezy Santa Monica
apartment, “That was what I wanted to do and now I do that to volunteer. It all fell into place without any kind of intention.”
By the mid-2000’s Anthony was becoming a staple of the musical scene in Los Angeles with regular gigs at the Temple Bar
and an eclectic radio show at KCSN (California State University Northridge) where his guests were up and coming stars like
Sa-Ra, Blu, Exile and Aloe Blacc. That show gave way to the opportunity to host his own show on KPFK where Anthony
took his ever-growing curiosity to new heights. The freedom of public radio allowed him to not stifle his diversity and range,
as he puts it “public radio is the only place I could play a cumbia track next to an E-40 track if I wanted to. I genuinely believe
all that is good music, whether it’s bass heavy stuff from the UK or salsa or vintage funk, I love it all.” Eventually, his passion
came to the attention of his childhood idol, KCRW, and Anthony found his life coming full circle by being offered his own
show on the public powerhouse.
Of course, it was only a matter of time Anthony’s curiosity about music led him to creating his own. Since his days at CSUN,
Anthony began toying with samplers and loops, creating sounds for his personal enjoyment. Like the rest of his endeavors that
began as a hobby, slowly this music making passtime grew into something bigger. When he was living in an apartment
complex with Flying Lotus as his neighbor, an organic collaborative environment led to the budding young Brainfeeder-to-be
to give a bit of insight into what turned out to be Anthony Valadez’ first release, Go! a 7” released by Recordbreakin’ in
2006. Always ambitious, Anthony was not satisfied with just looping and triggering sounds. Eventually, he sought to
collaborate with real musicians and produce in the fullest sense of the word. This was the genesis of Just Visiting, his debut
album on Plug Research. Over the course of the past three years, Anthony has collaborated with musicians, from other
continents, other cities and other area codes of Los Angeles, to create an album that is as diverse as any of his radio shows.
Sometimes musicians would come over to his apartment after gigs, record and crash on his couch. Other times he’d be getting
Pro Tools files sent over from Amsterdam that he would then arrange and chop-up on his MPC. “I feel like each song is
different but the common denominator is that it has soul,” explains Anthony. “I feel like this is a soul record in so many
different directions, from soul jazz to weirdo soul.”

AQUA NEBULA OSCILLATOR – formed in 2000 by David
Sphaèr'os – creates utterly unique and fantastically tripped out
occult psych rock inspired by parallel dimensions, voodoo,
ethnic trance, horror and cult movies (from the 1920s to the
1960s), painters like Hieronymus Bosch and Salvador Dali, dark
underground literature (H.P. Lovecraft, Isidore Ducasse,
Antonin Artaud), aliens and UFOs! A modern mix of Krautrock
/motorik with Hawkwind-style psychedelia, Hendrix-styled,
ultra tripped out guitar action and an apocalyptic, Raw Power
energy, AQUA NEBULA OSCILLATOR’s mind-burning, dark
and dirty “chaos-sound” is a cauldron full of seething, primitive
acid garage punk. ANO looks and sounds like it was buried in a
tomb in the late ‘60s’/ ‘70s and has just been dug up. The
band’s new album (and Tee Pee Records debut), Third is totally
fantastic, utterly underground and peculiarly timeless! AQUA
NEBULA OSCILLATOR whips up storms of scorching guitar
and hypnotic bass grooves over drums that are pounded into
submission. Pure punkadelic!!
"Like Gonn (Blackout Of Gretely) meets '73 Hawkwind...perfect
acid garage punk" – UNSUNG
"One of the best psychedelic bands" – PSYCHEDELIC BABY
• Highly anticipated new album from one of Europe’s most
accomplished underground psych bands!
• AQUA NEBULA OSCILLATOR’s previous releases – Under
The Moon Of..., Aqua Nebula Oscillator and Caves
Recordings 1998-2008 – have met to shining fan and critical
acclaim and established the cult quartet as one of the most
diverse, creative (and WEIRD) bands of the last decade!
• AQUA NEBULA OSCILLATOR was the hand-picked opening
band for THE CULT’s 2009 European “Love” tour and has also
shared the stage with bands such as Sky Saxon (The Seeds),
The Dead Weather, The Black Angels and Black Acid!

Not Actual Cover Art
The Oxnard, California based beat-smith and emcee Oh No returns for a solo mission following two successful
collaborative efforts alongside fellow producer/rapper The Alchemist as the power duo Gangrene -2010’s Gutter
Water and 2012’s Vodka & Ayahuasca- and the 2011 gem with The Alchemist as Gangrene & Roc Marciano, the
Greneberg EP.
This time, Oh No (born Michael Jackson; younger brother of Madlib and son of singer Otis Jackson) was
granted unprecedented access to the Rudy Ray Moore / Dolemite audio archives and given free rein to slice,
dice, chop and sample his way through the classic-yet-absolutely-filthy catalog. He was able to use legendary
material from The Human Tornado, Petey Wheatstraw, the Dolemite Soundtrack and more, plus a multitude of
previously unreleased and alternate acapellas and instrumentals.
The end result is Ohnomite, a 19 track head-banging extravaganza of sloppy funk, dirty soul, and brainy lyricism,
all aimed at one thing- making your head nod and your ass shake. Much like his 2009 all-Ethiopian endeavor Dr.
No's Ethiopium, Oh No tackles this with an unmatched ferocity and proper admiration for the source material. He
combines side-splitting vocal outtakes with the right amount of hard-hitting drum breaks and soul samples to
concoct a mixture sure to appeal to both old and new schoolers alike. And when you add to that guests spots from
the likes of MF Doom, Evidence, Phife Dawg, The Alchemist, Erick Sermon, Rapper Pooh, MED, Guilty
Simpson, Roc Marciano, Sticky Fingaz, Chino XL, Roc C, Prozack Turner, Termanology, Frank Nitt and
more, and you are left with a one of a kind album from a one of a kind musician. Ohnomite- 19 songs of pure
whoop ass from Oh No and Dolemite!

This hard-cover casebook offering pairs Frank Nitts new full-length release “Stadium Music” with his 48 page
book “The View From The Underground” co-written by personal confidant and adult film star Tara Lynn Fox.
“Seeing his work ethic and how much he was off into digging for records and making beats, and just how meticulous he was. That was early, early on.
Before anyone got to see or got to be around, you know what I’m saying? J- Dilla, T3, and Baatin were always at the crib workin’ on new records. Me
being at Jay Dee’s crib with him, you know, if he was working on something or came up with a new beat, he would basically test me as an MC. We just
liked being creative!
He would say, “Okay I’ma whip up this beat and we got 30 minutes to write whatever we can write, and then we gotta record it!”
-Frank Nitt, ‘The View from the Underground’
Detroit’s Frank Nitt has seen it all, more so than your average ‘keep it real’ MC. He has seen the meteoric rise and untimely death of friend, collaborator
and certified hip hop legend J Dilla. He has been signed, and rejected, by a major label (MCA), and has seen subsequent success on the independent
circuit (Delicious Vinyl, Fat Beats, Groove Attack etc). He eyewitnessed Common record a platinum album, and Black Thought freestyling in a strip club
parking lot. And he now chronicles his first hand experiences in the 48 page memoir ‘The View from the Underground’, which comes included in this
brand new deluxe casebook edition album, Stadium Music.
As part of the duo FrankNDank, Frank Nitt dropped unforgettable material on notable releases like 2001’s Welcome 2 Detroit, 2003’s 48 Hrs, and two
versions of Xtended Play (2004 and Version 3.13 in 2006), as well as his solo efforts The Concert Hall EP and Jewels in My Backpack. His most recent
full length outing, Nittyville, part of Madlib’s Medicine Show series, illustrates his knack for tongue-in-cheek, fun loving raps. But Stadium Music is more
than that. As Frank Nit puts it; “All of my travel, all of my musical influences, and all of my relationships... I talk about love on there, and hardship. I talk
about just wanting to be a dope MC.”
The album features beats and rhymes by Illa J, Que D, Dank, Kid Sublime, Kevin Cofield, Numbe:ra and others, plus a foreword by his personal
acquaintance and adult film star Tara Lynn Foxx
“I remember the day. His mom called us and I was upstairs. Dank and the homeboy were downstairs. The other homeboy called me, to come down.
When I got there, Dank was on the floor crying. I just remember taking the phone and it was just so surreal. It couldn’t be real. It was heartbreaking.”

The Jungle Brothers' 1988 debut, Straight Out The Jungle, was a landmark release in the development of conscious
hip-hop. That album's successor, 1989's superior Done By The Forces Of Nature, builds on the innovations of the
group's debut and adds the polish of major label production under the steady eye and ear of Kool DJ Red Alert, the
works executive producer. The Jungle Brothers major label debut offered a spiritual take on black America that was as
mellow as it was playful. Though the Jbeez’ sonic affiliation with the underground is still intact, the album is cleaner, less
dated, and generally easier on the ears than the independently released Straight Out The Jungle. The group's
sophomore effort is a vivid tapestry of buoyant beats; sampling from jazz, world music, classic funk, R&B and even
house and club style beats (seldom heard in hip-hop). The raps remain centered primarily on the Afrocentric themes for
which the Native Tongues posse (De La Soul, A Tribe Called Quest, Queen Latifah) was well-known ("Acknowledge Your
Own History" and “Black Woman” are strong examples), but the group's seriousness does not dismiss their need for
more light-hearted, rump-bumping fun (see: "What U Waitin' For," "Belly Dancin' Dina"). Smart, witty, and musically
sophisticated, but never a commercial smash, the Jbeez remain one of rap's most influential groups, and this excellent
set proves why.
The two discs boast the orginal album in all it’s sonic glory with top notch features from De La Soul, Q-Tip, Monie Love,
Kool DJ Red Alert & Karen Wheeler plus remixes and 12” edits by the likes of Norman Cook aka Fat Boy Slim, CJ
Mackintosh and Tony Humphries as well as non album cuts; 27 tracks in all. The handsome package is rounded out
with vintage, previously unreleased photography by Janette Beckman.

Walkability hides heavy lyrical content under positive tropical vibes. The album addresses everything from death of
loved ones to the daily grind. They make masterful use of
sonic space, keeping the instrumentation sparse and the
reverb heavy to provide a deceivingly introspective experience. With layered Afro-Latin rhythms, whimsical guitar
lines and dreamy electronic touches, Way Yes makes sure
you’ll never think of Ohio the same way again.

SOULIVE & KARL DENSON SPARK!
FOR FANS OF
Greyboy Allstars, Medeski Martin & Wood, Charlie Hunter, The New Mastersounds, CTI Records
OVERVIEW
Soulive has never made any bones about what they do best; it’s right there in their name. The trio
of guitarist Eric Krasno, drummer Alan Evans and keyboardist Neal Evans has carried the torch for
the soul-jazz organ trio—-that venerable, funky institution pioneered by the likes of Jimmy Smith,
Brother Jack McDuff and Groove Holmes in the late ’60s. Saxophonist Karl Denson has done
much the same, further evolving the tradition of funky horn legends such as Lou Donaldson,
Stanley Turrentine and Cannonball Adderley with projects like the Tiny Universe and groundbreaking quintet The Greyboy Allstars. Rest assured, when Soulive and Denson get together they
share within their collective conscious a wellspring of classic ‘60s soul jazz sides. However, for this
latest effort, a 4-track EP entitled Spark, they jump ahead a decade, delving deep into the smoky
vibe of ‘70s-era CTI Records by the likes of Freddie Hubbard, Grover Washington Jr. and George
Benson. The grooves are dark and cosmic with space for the musicians to explore their deep jazz
vocabularies as they revive material from the likes of Yusef Lateef, Freddie Hubbard and Art
Farmer. So it is with Spark that Soulive and Karl Denson go head first into their jazz roots and
emerge with their most exploratory recording yet, one that comfortably sits side by side with the
classics they discovered before coming of age as soul jazz heroes for their own generation.

lunar outpost chillout on their long awaited new album
Manzanita. The most realized document of the band’s shape
shifting powers yet, Manzanita is a gumbo of potent California
psychedelic pop rock brimming and bubbling over with feeling,
fuzz, soul, sunshine melancholy, feral ferocity and hook-laden
mystery. The electrically colorful quartet, whose sound was
once described as "re-envisioning Spiritualized as a jam band,"
creates what can be described as "post psych rock" that is at
once pastoral, menacing, leaden and ethereal. Or maybe the
band themselves describe it all best: "Imagine you're alone,
and [our band's] along and we're playing you a gig - our last
glorious supper on this giant abandoned space freighter, just
before we're ripped asunder in the gravity of giant planets.
That's what we're going for."
• Highly anticipated new album from San Francisco’s
purveyors of kick ass, hard-edged Cali psych!
"A fascinating blend of post-apocalyptic dread and blissed-out
reverie...the root of what made California psych and
post-psychedelic rock work." – PITCHFORK
• Publicity and marketing to be handled by ACTION! PR
(Quest For Fire, High On Fire, Radio Moscow, NAAM, Dead
Man, Danava)
"Space-traveling fuzzbox boogie blowouts...blissed-out, sitar
touched jangle...Consider your mind burst."
