Title Sponsor HANK SUERTH CEO ORION Food Systems Steve Watkins President ORION Food Systems August 4, 2013 Welcome to the 18th Annual ORION CLASSIC, the next golfing event in a series that has led to raising over $4 Million to support the mission of Children’s Home Society! Once again, Orion Food Systems is very proud to host this event and we want to thank all of you for your participation and support. Never before has the future of our country been so dependent on the health and security of our children. Society continues to present major challenges to our youth as pressures continue to build on them to either conform or to follow a pathway that is less than optimal in their development. In this very challenging environment, it is great to see how Children’s Home Society continues to provide a pathway for our youth to help shape their dreams and develop them into reality. As it becomes more of a struggle for individuals and families to develop a stable economic and social environment, CHS’ programs—including education, foster care, adoption services, residential treatment, emergency shelters, and prevention services—become more and more important every day. There are many ways that supporters of Children’s Home Society have chosen to contribute to the CHS mission including providing donations, volunteering time, becoming a sponsor or being a program participant. No matter how people have chosen to support Children’s Home Society, each person has made a significant and positive difference in the lives of thousands of children. Thank you for demonstrating your ongoing support through your time, commitment and gifts to CHS through your participation in this year’s ORION CLASSIC. We want to continue to take special notice of the significant contributions made by employees from companies throughout our community. These contributions tend to go unnoticed and this reinforces the timeless adage, “do it as if no one is watching”! These selfless acts of support for our youth are extraordinarily important and very much appreciated. We are proud to say that Orion Food Systems is filled with such team members who contribute much and expect nothing in return. We would like to thank them publicly for this, as well as employees from other companies within the community while renewing the ongoing commitment of our entire organization to Children’s Home Society by having the honor to proudly sponsor this year’s ORION CLASSIC! Have a great time and thanks again! 1 Helping the Kids Children’s Home Society RICK WEBER Development Director Thank you for coming! It is our hope that your time here with us will be an experience you will long remember. Whether you are golfing in the Pro-Am, watching our professional golfers from the gallery, bidding on an auction package, buying a raffle ticket, or joining us for dinner— know that your support has given some child a second chance at a good and happy life. On behalf of all the children who will benefit from your generosity—thank you! Children’s Home Society serves more than 2,000 children each year through residential treatment, education, emergency shelter, forensic interview & examination centers, foster care & adoption services, and prevention services. Tom continues to work hard on his game and is continuing to try and qualify for as many Champions Tour events as he can get in. Tom’s best finish this year is 35th in the Senior PGA Championship. Tom grew up in Onida, South Dakota and did not take up golf seriously until late in his high school days. Tom was an accomplished rodeo cowboy growing up, which is not hard to imagine with uncles such as Matt and Jim Sutton. We very much enjoy having Tom back with us, love his commitment to CHS, and appreciate his help in securing a number of the players for this year’s event. RUSS COCHRAN We welcome Russ back for his third Orion Classic! He is having another great year on the Champions Tour. Russ won in Des Moines a few weeks ago for his fourth Champions Tour win. He has four other Top 10 finishes and is 11th on the money list in 2013. Russ lives in Paducah, Kentucky and is a huge University of Kentucky Wildcat fan. He has battled some injuries, as most players on the Champions Tour have, but is back to being healthy. We are very pleased he would come and spend a day for the kids of CHS! BOB GILDER Bob joins us once again for his third Orion Classic! It is great to have one of the true gentlemen of the game back in Sioux Falls helping out the kids of Children’s Home. Bob continues his consistent play on the Champions Tour and has played in 58 straight Champions Tour majors. Over his career, which began in 1973, Bob has won six times on the PGA Tour, ten times on the Champions Tour, and two of those have been majors. Bob was born and still resides in Corvallis, Oregon. When not winning golf tournaments, Bob loves to race cars and watch spy movies! GARY HALLBERG Gary returns to help the kids for the second time. We appreciate Gary taking time out of his busy schedule to spend a few days in Sioux Falls. Gary graduated from Wake Forest University and turned pro right after college. He now resides in Castle Rock, Colorado. Gary has three wins to his credit on the PGA Tour and one win on the Champions Tour in 2010. He had a terrific 2012 Champions Tour campaign finishing second at the Senior Open and finishing in the top 30 on the money list. Thanks for joining us, Gary! 10 MORRIS HATALSKY Morris joins us once again for his ninth appearance at the Orion Classic! He has participated in our event more than anyone else, other than Graham Marsh. We appreciate his commitment to the children of South Dakota. Morris continues to compete on the Champions Tour but is starting to cut back on the number of events he plays in each year. When he is not playing, Morris dabbles in golf course design and is involved in the ownership end of the business, as well. Morris and his wife, Tracy, love to travel even when not golfing, with some of their favorite trips being to the great wine regions of the world. STEVE JONES Steve is making his first appearance at the Orion Classic and we are very excited to have Steve with us. Steve attended the University of Colorado and turned pro in 1981. He is an 8-time winner on the PGA Tour, including the 1996 US Open! Steve has played sparingly on the Champions Tour over the past couple of years. Steve calls Tempe, Arizona home when not playing golf. Steve has the distinction of being the two-time Colorado Sand Greens Champion. Also, because of a finger injury, he has had to adapt his golf swing and now uses a reverse overlap grip. Steve, welcome to Sioux Falls, and thanks for helping out the kids of CHS! PETER SENIOR Peter is joining us for his fourth Orion Classic. Peter was born in Singapore, but is an Australian citizen and has been a friend of Graham Marsh for many years. Peter has played professional golf all over the world and is now making his mark on the Champions Tour. Peter is having a great 2013 season so far with five Top 10 finishes already, and a third place finish at the Toshiba Classic. In December of 2012, Peter won the Australian PGA Championship by beating Geoff Ogilvy in a playoff to become the oldest major champion on the Australian Tour! WILLIE WOOD Willie is another first time participant in the Orion Classic! Willie played college golf at Oklahoma State University and still resides today in Oklahoma. Willie turned pro in 1983 and has been playing good golf ever since. He is a one-time winner on the PGA Tour and has won twice on the Champions Tour. 2012 was a banner year for Willie on the Champions Tour with both wins coming in that year. He is a long-time Minnesota Viking fan and his favorite player of all time in Fran Tarkenton. (Sounds like he is from around here!) Thanks, Willie, for spending the day helping the kids of CHS. 11 The Players Champion Pro Am AVERA Dave Flicek Steve Statz Dr. Dave Kapaska Tim Kromminga BILLION TOYOTA #1 (Team Pending) BILLION TOYOTA #2 (Team Pending) COLONIAL Jeff Nielsen Mike Hennings Keith Snyder Todd Friese CORTRUST BANK (Team Pending) CREATIVE SURFACES Jud Pins Denise Pins Sarah Hueners Brad Brown DAKOTACARE Kirk Zimmer Dr. Paul Amundson Greg Jasmer Teresa Gevens FIRST PREMIER BANK #1 Dana Dykhouse Dan Dykhouse Tim Hudson Justin Sell FIRST PREMIER BANK #2 Dave Rozenboom Scott Gullickson Jeff Fiegen Tim Hilber HOLMES MURPHY Kurt Ratzlaff Doug Muth Dick Muth (Golfer Pending) ORION FOODS #1 Steve Watkins Mike Barry Curt Erikson Austin Erikson JDS INDUSTRIES Scott Sletten Carl Wynja Greg Kendall Troy Giegling STEVE & SUZIE KIRBY Steve Kirby Kevin Kirby Peggy Kirby Patty Coddington ORION FOODS #3 Rick Ochs Lee Stump Kyle Adams Keith Boeller LAWRENCE & SCHILLER Micah Aberson Mark Lee Joe Zueger Scott Lawrence MASTERCARD Miles Beacom Jim Harrenga Max Krause Jim Foster NOVAK SANITARY SERVICES Mike Kranz Ken Giegling Butch Hanssen Randy Knecht PINE VALLEY Bill Christensen Todd Porter Todd Schreiver Charlie Jacobsen ORION FOODS #2 Mark Sweetman Paul Foley Eric Larsen Serena Bakke PANTHER GRAPHICS Aaron Mell Rory Kelly Mike Hoffman Mike Richards POET Doug Berven Mark DeAndrea Mitch Krebs Steve Lewis PREMIER BANKCARD Ron Houston Garold Edris Candace Debarger Dave Bowen 12 SANFORD HEALTH Bill Roberts Rod Carlson Kevin Lampe Dave Austad SANFORD TEAM (Team Pending) St. ANDREWS Mike Dougherty David Weber Doug Cooperider Kim Larson STAVENGER FAMILY Jim Stavenger Mark Stavenger Danny Amundson Justin Kiefer SUBARU OF SIOUX FALLS Terry Schulte Erik Syverson Mike Schulte Travis Johnson TEAM CHOLLA #1 Chad Dubisar 2012 Quentin McEntee Champion!
