BUCKET LIST ADVENTURE TO HELP KIDS!
In just two short weeks, retired Rehabilitation Centre for Children employee
John Wichers will embark on the journey of a lifetime - John’s Excellent Bike Adventure!
At 78-years-old, John will cycle independently from Vancouver, BC to Winnipeg in 30
days. His goal is to raise enough money to purchase 10 specialized bikes for 10 kids.
Freedom Concepts Inc. (freedomconcepts.com) is the event’s Title Sponsor. We are
also thankful to have Westoba Credit Union support htis event. In May, John was
recognized in the Manitoba Legislative Assembly by Minister Kerri Irvin-Ross for his
fundraising efforts and commitment to his community.
You can help John reach his goal by donating online at crf.mb.ca and clicking the
“Donate Online” button. Each donation will go directly to purchasing bikes for kids. You
can also send words of encouragement to John by emailing carole@crf.mb.ca - to let
John know how much we appreciate his efforts to help children play, learn and grow.

MEET THESE YOUNG
FUNDRAISERS!
We meet so many inspiring children who are determined to
overome their challenges and smile through any tough situation.
Recently we met five amazing children who invented their own
fundraisers for CRF. Who says philanthropy can’t start young?
From left to right: Brother Zachary and Julien went door-to-door
collecting money from family and friends, and raised enough to
purchase a brand-new sledge for Silas and iPad for Logan. Brodie
and Mira grew pumpkins at their grandparents’ farm and held
a Pumpkin Sale at the end of their driveway. This spring, they
donated the money to CRF in memory of their sisters Hope and
Ashley (former clients of the Rehab Centre for Children).
Eight-year-old Katharine donated 100% of the proceeds she
raised by selling homemade cupcakes at a recent garage sale. Her
grandmother is a member of the Manitoba Street Rod Association, a long-time supporter of CRF .
You too can hold your own CRF fundraiser - even the smallest acts
of philanthropy make a big difference. Contact Adell Gauthier
today at adell@crf.mb.ca to discuss your ideas!

The Children’s Rehabilitation Foundation is a local Manitoba charity dedicated to helping children living with
disabilities and special needs. We raise funds through special events, grants and donations to purchase
specialized equipment that helps children become more independent and fund modified recreation programs
where kids can have fun and learn valuable life skills. We are 100% dependent on the generosity of the community
and need your support to help children. To learn how to get involved, visit crf.mb.ca.
