BLACK PANTHERS:
VANGUARD OF THE REVOLUTION
- INDEPENDENT LENS
Tuesday, February 16 at 8 p.m.

Panther Party at its vanguard. Stanley
Nelson tells the vibrant story of a pivotal
movement that feels timely all over again.

NOVA
Iceman Reborn
Wednesday, February 17 at 8 p.m.
Travel to Canada’s Rockies and into the
world of moose to experience a calf’s first
year of life. At the best of times, fewer than
half of these leggy 35-pounders survive
their first year. This stunningly intimate
film attempts to find out why.
NOVA joins renowned artist and paleosculptor Gary Staab as he has been granted
rare access into the Iceman’s frozen lair.
Gary has been charged with creating an
exact replica of the mummy, which scientists and the public alike can then study up
close and in person. As we see the Iceman
reborn from 3D printing, resin, clay and
paint, new revelations about Otzi’s life and
legacy come to light, including surprising
secrets hidden in his genetic code.
PBS DEMOCRATIC PRESIDENTIAL
DEBATE 2016: A PBS NEWSHOUR
SPECIAL
Thursday, February 11 at 8 p.m.
Live from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, PBS
NEWSHOUR co-anchors and managing
editors Gwen Ifill and Judy Woodruff will
moderate the DNC-sanctioned debate, the
first Democratic presidential debate following the Iowa caucuses and New Hampshire
primary.
B.B. KING: AMERICAN MASTERS
Friday, February 12 at 8 p.m.
Explore B.B. King’s challenging life and
career through candid interviews with the
“King of the Blues,” filmed shortly before
his death, and fellow music stars, including
Bono, Bonnie Raitt, Carlos Santana, Eric
Clapton, John Mayer, and Ringo Starr.
READY JET GO!
Premieres February 15

Chasing Heroin
Tuesday, February 23 at 8 p.m.
Facing a heroin epidemic, America is
experimenting with radical new approaches
to the drug problem. Following four addicts in Seattle, examine U.S. drug policy
and what happens when heroin is treated
like a public health crisis, not a crime.
HUMAN FACE OF BIG DATA
Wednesday, February 24 at 9 p.m.
The gathering and analyzing of massive
amounts of data allow us to address some
major challenges, but the accessibility of
so much data comes at a steep price. This
film captures the promise and peril of the
extraordinary knowledge revolution.

Hello friends. Happy 2016.
It may be cold outside (and maybe even snowy) but that doesn’t stop us here at WLJT from bringing you quality
programming that you can watch from the warmth of your own home. And, as the new calendar year is beginning, we
want to thank you for being a supporter of WLJT. We strive to bring you quality, educational programming and love

music. This spring we will also have the UT Martin Rodeo finals along with Fish Fry, Iris Festival and Strawberry
