MULTIFILAMENT
Multifilament
strings are complex.
They are a twisted
construction with
hundreds or even thousands of synthetic micro-filaments. These micro-filaments can
be different dimensions, shapes or materials.
HEAD uses traditional round filaments and also
specially engineered ribbons. The micro-filaments are assembled within a synthetic resin
matrix to create a softer impact feeling or more
lively touch.

CRISP FEEL
The strings are then coated with a thin layer of
thermoplastic material, with special additives
that increase wear resistance and ensure perfect realignment after every shot. Multifilament
strings are very arm friendly, comfortable and
powerful, providing a high level of performance.

HEAD’S CRYSTAL CORE TECHNOLOGY IS A
UNIQUE STRING MANUFACTURING PROCESS
WHICH UTILIZES A COMPLEX, MULTISTEP HEAT
TREATMENT OF CO-POLYESTER STRINGS.
SOFT FEEL
This innovative process allows HEAD to control the
molecular crystal structure within a monofilament
string and engineer different material properties in
the outer and the core region of the string, setting
it apart from conventional monofilament polyester
strings. Highly orientated molecules on the outside
of the string generate stiffness and energy efficiency releasing more power and explosiveness.
Meanwhile, a more crystalline inner core is adding
dampening and touch to the string’s performance.
By creating unique variations in the molecular
structure within the cross-section of monofilament
strings, HEAD’s Crystal Core technology opens the
door to a new era of polyester strings with unique
combinations of ultimate power and feel.
CONTROL
Crystal Core technology is introduced with the new
HEAD HawkTM Tour String. It combines highest
possible energy efficiency for explosive power with
optimized control and touch in every shot.
MONOFILAMENT
Monofilament strings have a
simple construction, as they are
extruded as a single filament
that is stretched until the desired
diameter or dimension is obtained. They are
highly engineered products, due to the special
Polyester material and the additives which are
combined in complex production processes enhancing specific properties.

The elasticity of these strings provides excellent control and spin, and the combination of
structure and material guarantees long lasting
performance for high level players. The cross
section can be engineered in a variety of ways:
shaped to increase bite on the ball and spin
