SUSAN G. KOMEN SOUTHEAST WISCONSIN OUR PROMISE To save lives and end breast cancer forever by empowering people, ensuring quality care for all and energizing science to find a cure. OUR VISION A world without breast cancer WHO WE ARE One in eight women will have to fight breast cancer in their lifetime. That’s why since 1999, Susan G. Komen® Southeast Wisconsin has been hard at work here in the Greater Milwaukee area raising money to provide breast cancer screening, education, access to treatment as well as financial and emotional support. Seventy-five percent of the money we raise each year is put to work right here in Milwaukee, Waukesha, Racine, Kenosha, Ozaukee, Washington and Walworth counties to improve the lives of everyone affected by this deadly disease. The remaining funds go to national research to find a cure for breast cancer once and for all. Since the first Komen Southeast Wisconsin Race for the Cure 18 years ago, we have granted over $10.8 million to the Greater Milwaukee area. We have also funded over $3.7 million for national breast cancer research.
