Old Navy

Old Navy is once again inviting our
Littles and kids in waiting to gain
some valuable experience to help
prepare them for the work force at
two of their stores! This is a great
item to add to your CV and is a lot of
fun! This event is for teenagers 15
years and older. We have two dates
and locations available: Wednesday,
July 15th, from 9am—2pm at the Old
Navy at Marché Centrale and on
Thursday, July 23rd, from 9am until
2pm at the Old Navy at Fairview
Pointe Claire.

huge Ribfest fundraising event.
August 14, 15 &16th, 2015 and
come join us at PierrefondsRoxboro Borough Hall for great
ribs and a great time! There will
be lots to eat and plenty of

The BBBS t-shirt sale raised
$250. Thanks to all who purchased
a T-shirts to support a child.
Meet &Greet
Thank you to the volunteers and our interns
who came out to get to know us. As always,
we loved it and look forward to the next one.
Congratulations to one of
The Decalade event went quite well.
Although we were expecting rain, it
turned out to be a really nice (but windy!)
day. The rappellers had a blast and we
raised $5000.00, Thank you to everyone
who supported us!
our moms, Charlene McFarlane! She
was nominated for Single Mother of
The Year by Toronto-based agency
Woman On Fire. This is a Single
Mom Award where the woman must
be 20-50 yrs old. She may have a
job, but her passion is her business.
She works hard, juggles her job, her

Garage sale!!
BBBS participated in the
Beaconsfield Community Garage Sale this
year on Saturday, April 18th. It was quite
successful as we raised just over $200!!
April Activity
Everyone had a blast
bouncing around on all
the trampolines at Skytag! We will definitely
need to repeat this activity next year.
MAY
RAFFLE!
A painting entitled Morning Angles, by artist of the year Ann
Wilton, of the Kirkland Art Association was raffled off and proceeds went to support our organization. This generous artist
raised $840 for BBBS. Thank you so
much Ms. Wilton!
McHappy Day
On May 6th, when people purchased a
McCafe, a Big Mac and a Happy Meal, at
participating McDonalds restaurants , $1.00
of the sales went towards our agency. A
grand total of $36,400.00 was raised!!!
NEWS WITHIN BBBS
May Activity/Fundraiser
New BBBS Staff Member
Welcome Emilie David, the newest member of
the BBBS team! She is replacing Chrissy
Weber as a core program caseworker and is
doing a wonderful job so far. Emilie is a great
addition to our team!
Congratulations to BBBS
JUNE
Rock Concert at the Pioneer in
Pointe-Claire . Unfortunately, this event was
cancelled.
AGM
Our Annual General Meeting was held
on Wednesday, June 17th, 2015 at
6:30pm at the Church of the Resurrection
in Pointe Claire. We had a nice turn out
at the meeting this year and a lot of feedback and participation.
June Activity
Pool Party and BBQ!
2015 is the 40th Anniversary of BBBS of
West Island!! For our free June activity,
we celebrated with a fun afternoon of
swimming, games and a BBQ!! Thank
you once again to Westpark Pool for letting us come swim and eat!
Admin. Assistant Cathy, who won
both the UFE Female Masters
Fitness Model, Open and Elite
categories on June 20th. She has
now earned her pro card and is
most likely on her way to the UFE
World Championship in November.

On September 24th, 2015, BBBS will hold
the 4th Annual Benefit Gala. The gala is
always such a beautiful event! More

Remembering Joey
It is with heavy hearts that BBBS says goodbye to a fantastic
Big Brother, Mr. Joey Black. He
passed away on May 3rd
surrounded by family. He had
been a Big Brother for many years
and was very dedicated to our
cause. Even at his funeral, his
wish had been for a donation to
BBBS in lieu of flowers.
