Four reasons to sponsor Juneteenth
AN EVENT WITH CULTURE
Every June, thousands of people crowd the Park of downtown
San Jose to participate in the Annual Juneteenth Festival.
The Plaza is filled with fascinating sights, sounds, and scents
featuring more than 100 artists, performers, exhibitors and food
merchants taking part in the two-day celebration.
AN EVENT THAT HAS A PLACE IN HISTORY
Traditionally, Juneteenth has been a cultural event that recognized
the emancipation of slaves in the United States in 1863. Now,
Juneteenth is a multi-cultural event that allows people from all
cultures to come and celebrate unity, personal freedom and
independence, embracing rich traditions and community.
OUR COMMUNITY AND VOLUNTEER SUPPORT IS
OUTSTANDING
One of the most important elements of the success of the
Juneteenth Festival has been the strong show of support from the
community. The Juneteenth Festival’s event management team:
consisting of staff and seasoned volunteers, work year round to
ensure the smooth operation of the Festival. Large companies,
area businesses and local residents also give their time and
effort during the festival, providing over 100 additional volunteers
during the two-day event. Since the Juneteenth Festival is a gift
to the community, it further relies on the generous contributions
by many of the nation’s major corporations.
ENTERTAINMENT WITH A BUZZ
The annual Juneteenth in the Park Festival hosts the Bay Area’s
premiere performing artist. Our headlining roster has included
names like the Friends of Distinction, Rose Royce, Lenny
Williams, Pete Escovedo, Jon B., Chico Debarge and more. Our
range of genres includes Gospel, R&B, Reggae, Jazz, Blues,
Hip-Hop and more. Cultural and contemporary dance troops,
poets and martial arts exhibitions keep our crowd coming back
for more year after year.
