Merchandise must be opened and inspected immediately. Chintaly Imports
merchandiseiscarefullypackedandthoroughlyinspectedbeforeleavingour
factory.Thecarrieruponacceptanceofshipmentassumedresponsibilityfor
itssafedelivery.Claimsforlossordamagesustainedintransitmust,therefore,
bemadeuponthecarrierasfollows:
concealed loss or damage
Concealed loss or damage means loss or damage that does not become
apparent until the merchandise has been unpacked. The contents may be
damaged in transit due to rough handling even though the carton may not
showexternaldamage.Whenthedamageisdiscovereduponpacking,make
a written request for inspection by the carrier’s agent within 15 days of the
deliverydate.Thenfileaclaimwiththecarriersincedamageisthecarrier’s
responsibility. Chintaly Imports cannot file this claim for you. If you choose
to store the merchandise uncrated for a longer period of time, any damage
discovereduponpackingisyourresponsibility.ChintalyImportsorthefreight

Any external evidence of loss or damage must be noted on the freight bill
