XCentric Ideas Sweet or Salty … Let’s celebrate with a party … Photo: http://www.save-oncrafts.com/cake-standhotpink.html August 2015 Volume 10 — Issue 11 by ALMA PRETORIUS alma@xcentricideas.co.za www.xcentricideas.co.za Sushi Cake How easy is this? Prepare everything (except the seafood sheets) as you would with sushi … then layer them in a loose-bottom cake pan. Make sure all your ingredients are bitesized, so that when you cut the ‘cake’, you don’t drag the whole piece of salmon along. Follow link below for recipe. Recipe: http://www.tastebook.com/recipes/3836815-Sushi-cake Photo: http://nowimacook.com/image/26989853251 Sandwich Cake Not a single sweet thing in this ‘cake’. Take 4 slices of thin sandwich bread, cut off crusts. Make 3 fillings, making sure there are no big pieces. Eg: egg mayo, chicken mayo, tuna mayo, cucumbercheese-yoghurt, etc. Spread fillings between 4 slices of bread. Wrap in cling film, let rest overnight in fridge. Whip cream cheese with Greek yoghurt and cover outside of 4 slices bread and decorate. I’ve made 2 x 4 slices bread. Recipe: adapted from http://merlinandrebecca.blogspot.co.za/2012/09/gypsy-kitchensbirthday-smorgastarta.html Photo: my own Cheese Bread Bar Cheeses and Bread.
